This was the last song Aaron and I worked on together. I had the guitar and melody down, but we never tried to record it together. It's stuck with me through all these years, and I decided to record it on Garage Band and see how it came out.

So this is the first song Aaron and I wrote together. We had just split with our previous band, and I had the guitar riff, the first two verses and chorus, and I just handed the lyric sheet to Aaron and said "write the rest", which he did. Almost all the rest of the songs we did together afterward he wrote the lyrics for, and if I contributed at all it would be minor adjustments to fit the melody I came up with.

Pretty interesting story about this track: We didn't walk into Atomic Studios planning on recording this at all, and all I had down was the little acoustic line, and a melody for Aaron's lyrics. On day 2 we had some more hours, so we sat down and decided to do something with this. Literally all the music you hear aside from those two parts were composed on the fly. We had the acoustic guitar and Aaron singing, and then I pulled out my keyboard, literally on my lap sitting next to the control board, and I laid down the keyboards. Then at the end, decided to layer on the Peter Hook inspired bass guitar. Judah wasn't with us on day 2, which is why there are no drums on the track.

So we were big fans of Morrissey and he often had little film clips or other things in his songs, so we decided we wanted to add an angry crowd to the end of this song. Overall I don't think this mix was as good as the original, but there are pieces I like.
