My special guest this week is Greg Middleton, who first began DJing and collecting vinyl in the early 90s. He introduced himself on the DJ scene by spinning various forms of house music at events in Birmingham and Coventry before moving onto playing at famous venues in London such as SW1 and The Cross.

Throughout the 00s, he regularly went to, and occasionally played at, Brixton-based club night Gettin’ Hectic, where the music policy was far more eclectic and varied, but still absolutely rocking. Inspired by these influential club nights, and the emerging Edits scene in the latter part of that decade, Greg set about developing his own eclectic style, all underpinned by two key ingredients: groove and soul.
Greg has since held a three-year residency at one of London’s long-established venues, the Big Chill Bar, gaining a reputation for his epic, genre-hopping sets spanning Funk, Soul, Hip-Hop, Disco, Nu-Disco, House and beyond.

In 2018, he started his own club night in South-West London - Borderline - bringing his eclectic, funky vibe to the local area and culminating in several sold out events. When COVID-19 hit in March 2020, Greg launched the virtual Borderline Lockdown Sessions, doing live streams on Saturday nights throughout the pandemic, with lively chatrooms and a growing following.

Priding himself on spinning different sets each time out, his meticulous track selection and coherent blend of different genres will be sure to keep your attention from start to finish.

Episode 41: Feel Good Friday Radio Show (special guest Greg Middleton)

The Black Light Disco Show swaggered back on to myhouseradio.fm with another fun packed show full of musical chicanery for your listening pleasure. 

Hosting the show from the sauna in BLD Towers is Goz, who was gradually turning the temperature up and getting the steam going with a set full of funky hot stones and towel-whippings. 

On guest mix duties we’re excited and honoured to have the fantastic and super-talented Greg Middleton join us for his BLD debut. 

Greg first began collecting vinyl and learning the DJ ropes in the early 90s, introducing himself to the DJ scene by spinning various forms of house music at bars and clubs in Coventry and Birmingham before moving onto playing at famous London venues such as SW1 and The Cross.

Throughout the Noughties he was a regular on both sides of the booth at Brixton-based club night Gettin’ Hectic, which, blessed with an eclectic and varied music music policy had a fair few barnstorming nights. Inspired by these influential club nights, and the emerging Edits scene, Greg set about developing his own eclectic style which is built on two key ingredients - groove and soul.

Greg has since held a three-year residency at the Big Chill Bar (one of London’s long-established venues) where he gained a reputation for genre-hopping sets spanning Funk, Soul, Hip-hop, Disco, Nu-Disco, House and beyond. He started his own club night, Borderline in 2018 bringing his eclectic, funky vibe to South-West London

When COVID-19 hit last year, Greg began his 'virtual' Borderline Lockdown Sessions, doing live streams on Saturday nights throughout the pandemic, with lively chatrooms and a growing following. 

Greg is a master at spinning different sets each time out; meticulous track selection and a flawless blending of genres is the name of the game, and this set for BLD showcases all of those considerable talents.

In lane one, we have Les Inferno taking us on a light recon around the course, starting with one of his own forthcoming tracks ‘Ketama’ (oh you’re so gonna like it!)

Hot To The Touch 010422 with MartinMax & Javi Frias on Prime Radio

This week was the start of something different - instead of going it alone I've teamed up with another DJ who goes by the name of Koopanut, and we're starting a thing on Twitch! Hoping it'll build into a raid train, but for week 1 it was just Koops kicking things off then handing over to me. 

Started things a lot more hip hop than usual, and kept things on the slow-ish side throughout. My usb was playing silly buggers and wouldn't let me play a lot of the tracks I was selecting, so things ended up particularly eclectic, which was no bad thing. Was loads of fun. had a few new people listening in, and really enjoyed playing a bit differently to usual. 

My regular livestream's now Wednesday evenings. I still start at 8:30, but Koops kicks things off in style from 7, so don't you dare miss his set!

Groove On Up! #1 (Livestream #84) - 6th April 2022

It’s that time again, folks - the Samosa Funk train steamed into town on the myhouseradio.fm airwaves with a caboose packed full of sonic delights and aural gems; fashioned by Les Inferno and De Gama to blast away those Monday blues and to kick mediocrity right in the clam pouch. 

The doors of BLD Towers have been flung wide open and in just a few hours time, Les Inferno & De Gama will be taking their places in the ‘Technics Collaboration Zone’ (on the 10th floor) to wow you mere mortals with their celestial skills behind the turntables. 

First up we have The Professor himself, Les Inferno who will be pulling out tunes from his infamous crates of destiny and launching lightning bolts into unsuspecting ears. This set is full to the brim of classic tracks from the likes of Chi-Lites, Atlantic Starr, Odyssey, Change Sergio Mendez and Roy Ayres to name drop but a few. All expertly blended and programmed in the way only Les Inferno is capable of. 

For the second hour, De Gama gets the eclectic play mat out and delivers a real ‘tour de force’ of emotional highs, fist bumps and air punching. Make no mistake about it, De Gama has crafted a set that will make your heart soar and your Shatner’s Bassoon rattle. With 30 years’ experience behind the decks - spinning uplifting House, Disco, Edits and more - London-based Greg Middleton is a versatile DJ, from warming things up with laid-back grooves to closing out a night with peak-time floor-fillers. Greg’s sets are fun and nostalgic, yet sophisticated and unpredictable, with rock solid vocals, funky and soulful grooves, layers of organic percussion, and hints of classic house - a nod to his musical roots.

Greg began collecting records and learning the DJ ropes in the early 90s, introducing himself to the club scene spinning House at various nights across the Midlands before moving onto playing at famous London clubs such as SW1 and The Cross.

Over the following decade, Greg broadened his style, heavily influenced the emerging Edits scene championed by the likes of Greg Wilson, Late Nite Tuff Guy and Dr Packer. He then held a three-year residency at the Big Chill Bar (one of London’s long-established venues), where he further honed his skills, reading the crowd and building the tempo while spinning long, genre-hopping sets.

Starting his own regular club night called Borderline in 2018, Greg brought his funky, party vibe to a packed-out, intimate venue in South-West London. When the pandemic hit, Greg took Borderline to the virtual airwaves, doing live streams every Saturday night during the lockdowns, with lively chatrooms and a growing following. The club nights returned with a bang in March 2022, and are going from strength to strength.

As a member of the “Disco Waltons” family, a group of DJs, producers and enthusiasts with a fast-growing reputation, he is currently co-producing the weekly Disco Waltons Sunday Service show on NDC Radio, with guests such as Michael Gray, Richard Earnshaw, Mark Brickman, Jamiroquai's Derrick McKenzie and Greg Wilson.

Greg is also co-host of Pete Ellison's award-winning radio show the Feel Good Friday Show, currently airing weekly on NDC Radio.
