Great music reaches further than your ears can register. Listening to a recent recording from Peder Mannerfelt is like listening to a complete work flow. The superb music created inside of Peder Mannerfelts Villa Nellcôte. 
The opening track of EP2 "Rhythm Inflection" is similar to a heartbeat, rebuilt using a parade of machines, ice­ cold biting sounds that implies a climax that never materialize. 
Repetitive thuds are the wrecking ball of "Technology As Apathy" while saw waves continuously crunch until your ear are obliterated on "Failed Grammar”. "Titled" is the centerpiece, however. Its sonic gears grind into hollowed­ out spheres. A voice from the heavens echoes "Reset, reduce, turn up, repeat" until the words lose all meaning and are battered into the metal walls by distilled rhythms. Closing track ”Worlds Falling Out the Bottom” brings with it a sense of calm and a respite for the next chapter. 
EP2 is the last ashes of a manuscript that's been waiting for ages to be turned into dust. It is the final nail in the coffin of his past that began with EP1 and Lines Describing Circles. 
Peder Mannerfelts music is gradual and always on the move, the process spans over the whole production.

Deep within the humdrum of the freeway buzz and eternal traffic of dystopian Los Angeles, there exists an unstoppable sonic gathering of minds, determined to spread a gospel believing that higher BPMs are not necessarily synonymous with harsh escapist mentalities and homogenous vibes. Lately however, as the belief system and community members have musically evolved, there has been some debate about the viability and true existence of this mantra. Is “Fast Not Hard” a sustainable ethos, guiding us towards the ultimate truth?

Just as the issue began to climax, seemingly out of nowhere, a helicopter emerged, containing a capsule from the future (or possibly aliens). Within this capsule was physical, musical, fundamental proof of the durability of their belief system – a bible of sorts, with all the thoughts and debates and beliefs and ideals of the group members mechanically infused into a shiny black disc of three original musical offerings. Upon digesting the capsule’s creed, the group accepted the music as scripture, and coined it “Soft Fascination,” – an emotional reflection of their fast-not-hard form of fundamentalism – and named group member Carré as their first chosen matriarch.

With @roni_nza, it's almost as if suddenly a storm hit the city one evening, and then she was just about on a flyer everywhere. May it be the exposure to a culturally mixed French-Malaysian upbringing, her poised supremely-femme personality, or the bottomless pit of exhilarating sweat-soaked late-night rendezvous she initiates—all of it exudes an aura that undoubtedly intrigues many.

I first stumbled upon RONI's Instagram at the beginning of 2023 via a running order post for a long night of partying in Berlin's RSO, the revered venue formerly known as Griessmühle. Admittedly, I was a bit late to know her, for she was by then a staple in the burgeoning Paris underground, alongside a Rinse FM residency, establishing on-the-go Nehza Records while without-rest populating clubs all over Europe/ Asia as an effervescent touring DJ.

RONI's sound curation is rooted in the continuous discovery of herself and her ravers—she ignites a euphoric connection with the crowd through a tense and undulated exchange of energies. A force of nature driving through the thicket, the dance floor swims deep in layers of UK-inspired, bass-heavy, massive-dub heaters, and cherry on top—angelic, shimmery textures for a transcendental surprise.

The same applies to the IA MIX 379, curated with much adoration by RONI herself. Pulsating rhythmic structures, machine-gun percussion, and switching tempos serve as a real treat for the journey into the delicate sonic fantasy world behind a fiercely passionate mind - get to know RONI.

Peder Mannerfelt splits the difference between playful immediacy and daring experimentation. You’re as likely to find him premiering a live show at Berlin’s Atonal festival as pulling apart fabled techno meccas from Berghain to Fabric with synapse-frying precision. One minute he’s being asked to remix Björk, and the next he’s dropping EPs of non-conformist techno for Karenn’s Voam label. 

As a prolific collaborator throughout his career, Mannerfelt has veered from the orchestral tension of Roll The Dice (with Malcolm Pardon) to the anything-goes maximalism of Aasthma (with Pär Grindvik). As a producer, he’s worked on every one of Fever Ray’s acclaimed albums and live shows, as well as projects from alt music heavyweights such as Smerz, Blonde Redhead and Glasser. His Peder Mannerfelt Produktions label has become another outlet for his singular approach, presenting his work alongside similarly experimental operators like Sissel Wincent, Machine Woman, Klara Lewis and Hodge. 

More recently, his PM+ series celebrates the immediacy of club-focused tracks, and Mannerfelt thrives on the energy and community of contemporary club music. What makes him different is his response to that energy, as he pushes the music’s possibilities in wild, unpredictable directions.
