In celebration of International Women's Day 2022 all proceeds from this release will go directly to charities working to create safe sleeping spaces for homeless migrants, trans, inter and queer health care and people with disabilities in Berlin as well as various charities in Ukraine.

To wrap up the year, W133 has put together its second Various Artist release featuring a diverse lineup of emerging and established artists. 

Kicking off the EP is the French producer Monibi, offering a groovy and bass-heavy breakbeat track titled "Mahsa Amini." This track serves as a call to fight for women's rights, not only in Iran but around the world.

On A2, San Francisco-based Kudeki showcases her love for tripped-out Techno with "Cursive." This mesmerizing track, featuring a relentless bassline and a 4/4 kick, creates a spooky atmosphere.

On the flip side, label head Pino Peña teams up with samwho from Rotterdam to deliver a percussive power workout. "Jacarandas," named after the purple trees in CDMX, definitely has those Latin American vibes and rhythms that will get you moving.

For the closer of the EP, speed dembow heavyweight Siu Mata delivers a fast-hitting tribal bomb called "Dubiquity," which takes you on a journey through dramatic pads and spaced-out percussions.

The release is, as always, complemented by pictures taken by analogue photographer Freya Gerz and is available on vinyl with fully printed cover sleeves as well as digitally.

The latest pair of technical fizzers come bowling up to PM+ from the boss himself, shoulder-barging his way between business lunches with a shark-like instinct for what bangs and no quarter given for self-serious techno posturing. 

Fed into the party mainframe directly from the new Aasthma studio he shares with Pär Grindvik in Stockholm, Peder Mannerfelt applies his amped-up digits to exactly the kind of irreverent but brilliantly realised club monster PM+ was built for (with a little help from Grindvik, no less). 

‘Flash My Flip Phone’ hinges on the titular keypad tones as a sort of early 00s update on bleep techno with added doof. As a complementary serving, the ‘Flipped Groove Version’ notches up the steely, loopy mechanics of the track as an ode to kind of techno which moved mountains around the time most folk were flashing their flip phones. It’s a direct adjustment for a more visceral experience, but rest assured both cuts will slay as they order you to make way for the power play, elbows aloft, eyes on the prize.

I Believe (DJ Problems Remix)

Peder Mannerfelt splits the difference between playful immediacy and daring experimentation. You’re as likely to find him premiering a live show at Berlin’s Atonal festival as pulling apart fabled techno meccas from Berghain to Fabric with synapse-frying precision. One minute he’s being asked to remix Björk, and the next he’s dropping EPs of non-conformist techno for Karenn’s Voam label. 

As a prolific collaborator throughout his career, Mannerfelt has veered from the orchestral tension of Roll The Dice (with Malcolm Pardon) to the anything-goes maximalism of Aasthma (with Pär Grindvik). As a producer, he’s worked on every one of Fever Ray’s acclaimed albums and live shows, as well as projects from alt music heavyweights such as Smerz, Blonde Redhead and Glasser. His Peder Mannerfelt Produktions label has become another outlet for his singular approach, presenting his work alongside similarly experimental operators like Sissel Wincent, Machine Woman, Klara Lewis and Hodge. 

More recently, his PM+ series celebrates the immediacy of club-focused tracks, and Mannerfelt thrives on the energy and community of contemporary club music. What makes him different is his response to that energy, as he pushes the music’s possibilities in wild, unpredictable directions.
