We’re delighted to finally share with you PROXIMITY III, the third instalment of our annual Pure Space compilation series. Across the 19 tracks, 22 artists find synergy across the spectrum of experimental electronica.

Creeping through deep d’n’b, blisteringly fast idm, and percussive club cuts across to bass laden experimental music, blissful tech and peak energy techno, we hope this release provides an access point for all electronic music lovers to explore the depths of the so called ‘Australian’ subterranean music landscape.

FIRE UP: Fifteen successful releases later, Anetha continues to fan the flames with MTY-FEU, an incandescent new compilation. Titled «Ils s’embrasèrent, réduits ensemble», the release stands for fusion and oneness.

Bursting from the depths of the earth, magma is devouring: melting hot techno, deep techno, fast techno, firestorms of trance, eruptions of hard groove, break, mental, smoldering experimental… MTY-FEU is a lava flow of boiling, vital energy, unstoppable and full of blistering textures.

During the Nuit Blanche (A1), we surrender. We, the offer. Our fire is combusting. Our feet, stomping.
Berserk, in a fury, there’s No End (C1) to this party. In a trance, Eternal Echoes (E2) beguiles us all, until we become one into the Molten Core (H2) of Inferno. Ils s’embrasèrent, réduits ensemble.

The incredibly talented visual artist FEMUR crafted the artwork by creating an AI-generated meta-crackle of fire. Diplomatie Studio handled the design while mastering was entrusted to Sixbitdeep, except for Anetha’s edit, where mix and mastering credits go to Le Dom. We’ve opted for bio-vinyls for this release, knowing that one day these records will return to ashes, only to rise again, like the phoenix.

'GHOSTWORLD' is the debut album by much loved Naarm/Melbourne-based producer, @loiflan. Released via long-time LOIF supporter @steeplejackrec, the project is a much anticipated opportunity for fans of LOIF's psy-tinged sound design to indulge in the biggest release from the artist to date.

'I Believe You' the penultimate moment on 'GHOSTWORLD'. Whether in his DJing, live performance or productions, LOIF is no stranger to breaks, and 'I Believe You' is glaring proof of that fact. 

A grumbling bass line widens and narrows itself around a swirling group of drum samples, which, for headphone users, means a multi-directional soundscape that comes with such a LOIF-craftian experience. A soft and accusatory voice regularly breaks through, gradually growing amongst a soft and sliding group of keys, reminding the listener of what an emotional experience 'GHOSTWORLD' has been thus far.

'GHOSTWORLD' releases digitally and on a limited CD via @steeplejackrec's Bandcamp, on Wednesday, February 12.

Irish producer and DJ Casper Hastings returns to Yin Yang Label in full force with a 6-track EP ‘Recreational Murder’, including a bonus track on the digital format of the release. Unleashing a lethal mutation of electro, techno and jungle, the second release on the Dublin-based imprint showcases Casper’s versatility as an artist who garners clear-cut expertise in his field.  

Peder Mannerfelt’s remix of the track comes as a curveball on the EP, upending the previously understated but ominous tone with thundering drums and whiplike percussion. Ideal for a peak-time techno set.

Presenting a portfolio of twitchy techno tectonics with a sharp line in corporate acumen, LDS returns to the market with a double-dose of limber futurism for PM+.
 
Stuttgart shock broker Luca Daniel Schwarz has been firing and perspiring on all cylinders since he went public around 2016. Past form for the likes of Subwax BCN and Blue Hour have all shown a deadly instinct for modern variations on the techno tradition, and he keeps pushing at the form with a fine balance between playful disruption and poker-face propulsion.
 
'Business Influencer Theme' is a jagged bolt of hi-tech soul littered with crafty edits, luminescent synth strokes and a mid-section pep talk to get you match fit for the midnight power lunch. 'Portal Merge (Peak Mix)' leans towards the growling, subtly emotive brand of electro pioneered by the Weatherall-Tenniswood dream team, bolstered with modernist sound design flex and another canny helping of sliced-up word salad.
 
Forecasting at the intersection of social commentary and cutting-edge club clout with devastating clarity, LDS packs a lot into his wry, laser-focused motivational workouts. The outlook is weightier than a hedge fund manager's bloated bar tab.

Peder Mannerfelt splits the difference between playful immediacy and daring experimentation. You’re as likely to find him premiering a live show at Berlin’s Atonal festival as pulling apart fabled techno meccas from Berghain to Fabric with synapse-frying precision. One minute he’s being asked to remix Björk, and the next he’s dropping EPs of non-conformist techno for Karenn’s Voam label. 

As a prolific collaborator throughout his career, Mannerfelt has veered from the orchestral tension of Roll The Dice (with Malcolm Pardon) to the anything-goes maximalism of Aasthma (with Pär Grindvik). As a producer, he’s worked on every one of Fever Ray’s acclaimed albums and live shows, as well as projects from alt music heavyweights such as Smerz, Blonde Redhead and Glasser. His Peder Mannerfelt Produktions label has become another outlet for his singular approach, presenting his work alongside similarly experimental operators like Sissel Wincent, Machine Woman, Klara Lewis and Hodge. 

More recently, his PM+ series celebrates the immediacy of club-focused tracks, and Mannerfelt thrives on the energy and community of contemporary club music. What makes him different is his response to that energy, as he pushes the music’s possibilities in wild, unpredictable directions.
