Fast At Work returns with another statement EP, this time from the label’s own Carré (@carreo) and her closest collaborator Danny Goliger (@dannygoliger). Navigating through textured atmospheres, rhythmic explorations, and immersive landscapes, they allowed their music to unfold naturally—an organic process shaped by curiosity and intuition. Each track was born from sampling its predecessor, creating a recursive dialogue that guided the creative flow. A commitment to a tension-building groove in ‘Up Too Late’, the warped dub throughlines of ‘Tricky One’, the intricate, delicate uptempo delight that is ‘Exit Plan,’ and the bridge between all four tracks ‘Don’t Keep Me In Suspense’ — each reflect different moments in this journey. An expert in textural exploration, the Dutch DJ and producer Konduku (@kondukukonduku) brought out the true hypnotic potential of the title track. Their influences ripple outward, yet the sound remains inherently theirs—fluid, unbound by singular genre or label.

Our next VA compilation pushes deeper into the exploratory world of Pressure Dome, presenting another collection of forward-facing cuts that straddle introspection and dancefloor energy. Across ten tracks, familiar names and new collaborators stretch the label’s sonic identity into fresh terrain equally suited for immersive listening as for club catharsis.

Opening the release, Caldera & Yushh combine again with “Bubbletrain” a minimal trip round the swamp with momentum is carried by cavernous space and effervescing textures. Breaka & Yushh follow with “Betta With U”, a fluorescent downtempo beauty that tugs on the heart. On “The Grass”, Harry Rodger & Yushh pair lush atmospheres with contradictory shades of beauty and melancholy.

Piezo & Yushh arpeggiated melodies weave through an intricately designed world. Stones Taro & Breaka continue to twist things up on “Flies In The Kitchen” as warped vocals and warm wubs ride over dancehall rythmns and swampy textures. SCG & Dubrunner’s “Building Farm” bring a heady fusion of dubwise stabs and downtempo propulsion on their second outing together. 

On “Cheeky V”, Gramcy & MLE provide one of the compilation’s most immediate club weapons. Stripped-back, precise, and primed for a wiggle. Dubrunner & Yushh link up on “Trash Panda”, a playful yet fierce construction, where skipping acid lines and lush pads meet in off-kilter harmony.

Closing out the release, Roy Mills & Yushh’s “ZzZ” drifts into dreamier territory with warm vocal chops and weightless breaks, before Forever & Human Resources bring things to an intricate, thoughtful conclusion on “What Kind Of Bird Is This” a deep weave of chords and breaks that leaves the compilation in contemplative flight

Channeling inventive sound design into incisive, characterful techno variations, Jurango returns to Livity Sound with an eight-track double EP — his longest release to date. Taíno Gold captures a moment in time for Bristol-based Nate Reece's continually evolving sound as it draws on the full spectrum of UK club music. 

Following a debut for Livity's reverse label in 2021 and last year's An Amorphous Mass EP, Reece is more assured than ever tackling a variety of club-focused cuts. The tracks on the release all came together before, during and after a two-month visit to Reece's grandparents' home — an idyllic tropical environment in a small community at the top of a hill in the northern part of Jamaica. 

Taíno Gold refers to the island's indigenous Taíno community and the legend of a witch luring Spanish settlers into a trap on the Martha Brae river. There are no messages explicitly embedded in the music, but the release is both a personal reflection of Reece's own experiences and family heritage, plus a reminder about the enduring sceptre of colonialism and the continued need to fight against it. From absorbing Jamaica's fraught history through museum and plantation visits to the abundant nature in the garden surrounding his grandparent's house, the double EP marks a place in time for Reece, with eight advanced, ear-catching tracks as the end result.

From the cascading arps of 'Black Torches' to the tunnelling chords of 'Waiting For Trelawny', the melodic dimension of the Jurango sound is more confident than ever. 'Hibiscus' is a shimmering celebration of dub techno and crooked drum pressure and 'Chalk On Trees' basks in aqueous, fathoms-deep pads to close out the EP. Elsewhere, Reece brings new textural and tonal detail to his percussive workouts, splashing acidic noise around the angular experimentation of 'Maybe It's Broken' and firing off double-time rhythms to inject 'Double Sevens' with infectious urgency. 

With the space afforded by a longer release, Reece widens out the scope of his artistic identity while absorbing the particular scene and setting that surrounded him while making the tracks. Taíno Gold is a vibrant next step for Jurango and a natural continuation of his work with Livity Sound.

Peder Mannerfelt splits the difference between playful immediacy and daring experimentation. You’re as likely to find him premiering a live show at Berlin’s Atonal festival as pulling apart fabled techno meccas from Berghain to Fabric with synapse-frying precision. One minute he’s being asked to remix Björk, and the next he’s dropping EPs of non-conformist techno for Karenn’s Voam label. 

As a prolific collaborator throughout his career, Mannerfelt has veered from the orchestral tension of Roll The Dice (with Malcolm Pardon) to the anything-goes maximalism of Aasthma (with Pär Grindvik). As a producer, he’s worked on every one of Fever Ray’s acclaimed albums and live shows, as well as projects from alt music heavyweights such as Smerz, Blonde Redhead and Glasser. His Peder Mannerfelt Produktions label has become another outlet for his singular approach, presenting his work alongside similarly experimental operators like Sissel Wincent, Machine Woman, Klara Lewis and Hodge. 

More recently, his PM+ series celebrates the immediacy of club-focused tracks, and Mannerfelt thrives on the energy and community of contemporary club music. What makes him different is his response to that energy, as he pushes the music’s possibilities in wild, unpredictable directions.
