"We spent three nights under incredible auroras on a spit of bedrock beside a remote glacial lake in the North Woods just before the fall equinox this year. Prepared listening to further grasp the significance and connect deeply with our experience has been the ritual. At the center of each trip, and mix, was the glimmer of opportunity to see the lights. At this confluence of time and space, in the midst of powerful reflection, we let the music do its thing at the listening point on Omega Lake.

Alex's live SUN-SET at The Sunseeker, Byron Bay washed the library with a perfectly honed evolution of picturesque downtempo, hazy, percussive Deep House.

Combining rich field recordings from Byron Bay's famed Wategos Beach, and hypnotic instrumentation ~ Alex's performance was warm and inviting. Percussive elements and powerful drum patterns sat amongst perfectly executed melodies and dusky atmospheres. Perfectly suited to the orange hues and purple hints of the sunset that evening.

Alex is purposeful with his approach, with every element completely additive to the last. Moments of organic evolution that disappear as quickly as they come into existence, peaking into a glowing embrace that will undoubtedly leave an impression.

An exploration of springtime sounds and textures, with a particular focus on rain, sunshine and choo choo trains. Inspired by the first weeks of March, meandering through London, watching the blossoms ignite.

Another traverse from quiet, beatless and spacey soundscapes, into deeper and pumpin’. Pack you cagoule, and have a wander. 

Recorded in the studio on a pair of beaten up CDJs and a well used mixer.

Curator of the Music for Astral Travel playlist, Tight Cherry brings the listeners into a deep and fluid state of mind with her carefully selected ambient and experimental gems. This time she puts together a special music trip drawing from her collection of 90s ambient and electronic music records.
