Great track. You have a great way of telling a story in song. I like the way the song is carried so simply and yet elegantly by the keys. Some great arpeggios. Classic sound.

Through the Night is a song about the second phase of grief - Denial.  I was grieving for lost love at the time of writing it and wondering why I hadn't moved on. I started researching the grief process and realized I was still in denial. Still thinking I could go back - stuck on loop. As I started researching it and creating a world we imagined snow, ice, cold, dreams, hallucinations, and delusions and created the visuals before the lyrics were even done.  The result was a cohesive audio/visual project between myself, Trivecta, and Director Everett Lee-Sung that feels more real than anything I've ever done in the past.

My first real attempt at writing a true prog rock song, which could possibly be considered a cousin of Future Calling.  Certainly the longest song I've come up with, so far and the first to feature a solo written in 7/4.

Sir Edward William Elgar, 1st Baronet OM GCVO (2 June 1857 – 23 February 1934) was an English composer, many of whose works have entered the British and international classical concert repertoire. Among his best-known compositions are orchestral works including the Enigma Variations, the Pomp and Circumstance Marches, concertos for violin and cello, and two symphonies. He also composed choral works, including The Dream of Gerontius, chamber music and songs. He was appointed Master of the King's Musick in 1924.

My favourite piece that he composed is Nimrod and anybody who loves beautiful, emotional and stirring music will love this piece. I decided to create a new interpretation and please take a listen.

Hydrus /ˈhaɪdrəs/ is a small constellation in the deep southern sky. It was one of twelve constellations created by Petrus Plancius from the observations of Pieter Dirkszoon Keyser and Frederick de Houtman and it first appeared on a 35-cm (14 in) diameter celestial globe published in late 1597 (or early 1598) in Amsterdam by Plancius and Jodocus Hondius. The first depiction of this constellation in a celestial atlas was in Johann Bayer's Uranometria of 1603. The French explorer and astronomer Nicolas Louis de Lacaille charted the brighter stars and gave their Bayer designations in 1756. Its name means "male water snake", as opposed to Hydra, a much larger constellation that represents a female water snake. It remains below the horizon for most Northern Hemisphere observers.

The brightest star is the 2.8-magnitude Beta Hydri, also the closest reasonably bright star to the south celestial pole. Pulsating between magnitude 3.26 and 3.33, Gamma Hydri is a variable red giant 60 times the diameter of our Sun. Lying near it is VW Hydri, one of the brightest dwarf novae in the heavens. Four star systems in Hydrus have been found to have exoplanets to date, including HD 10180, which could bear up to nine planetary companions.

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to read these words, and (hopefully) for listening to a few of my tracks. I tend to believe that if songs are any good, they speak for themselves, so I won't rabbit on about them too much! Suffice to say, that I write from the heart, being inspired by many aspects of this increasingly, crazy world we live in, particularly the human condition and, dare I say it, politics and social issues. Tracks from my four albums, Waiting for Those Days, The Man at the Window, Future Calling and my most recent offering, These Modern Times, are available for your listening pleasure. 

Aside from songwriting, I also teach Logic Pro on a freelance basis, along with offering a mastering service, within my studio. I am also a 3D artist and animator, using Cinema 4D software. Furthermore, I am in the process of purchasing/learning Final Cut Pro X and Motion, along with a Canon 600D, with a view to producing my own music videos. My ultimate aim is to combine live action, CGI and music - I already have some interesting ideas with regard to this.

We live in difficult but exciting times, don't we?

Anyway, you've probably had enough of my ramblings by now, so if I've managed to persuade you to listen to a tune or two, I hope you enjoy them!
