The "If You’re on the Water" EP, while self-released, is The Saxophones' first studio recording. It was recorded and mixed on an analog Toft console by Cameron Spies of Radiation City over the course of a spring week in Portland, Oregon. It features Alexi Erenkov on guitar, vocals, and woodwinds; his wife, Alison Alderdice on percussion and vocals; and his longtime friend and collaborator Richard Laws on bass, vibes, and Crumar synthesizer. 

The title track was inspired by a summer week that saw suicide, the transition of a relationship, and Alexi and his Father’s near death experience in a boating accident. The album pays tribute to the currents of beauty, sorrow and regret that run through our lives.

With „Wirtschaftskammer“ – which means Chamber of Commerce – this young band chose a name, which exposes the absorption of men into ever-present capitalism. On their self titled debut album at Cut Surface you meet a revenant of rock, spiked with elements of noise, jazz and folklore adaptions. Nightmarish high jinks confirm the fright of all these haunted by consumer pressure, with lyrics rooted in found footage dadaism. 
The track „Kaufkraft“ – wich translates as purchasing power – is drawing on a Viennese tradition, the love for dead and decay. You can feel the morbidity and disintegration in the sounds, while the singer is grumbling on his dadaist poem about consumerism.

Dives are an all female power trio deeply rooted in the Viennese Underground. Their trademark are a strong rhythm section and catchy melodies with a recall value. You feel, the descend from Garage and Riot Girl sounds with heavy base lines, driving drums and a noisy guitar. But they move their sound significantly towards Indie Pop with catchy melodies and a harmonic two part singing. With „Tomorrow“ a tenacious, hypnotic guitar loop is drilling its way into our ears. The Dives hit you hard and give comfort at the same time when they ask „How can you feel when your hearts are made of stone?“.
