A Singer/Songwriter from Liverpool. Owns a home studio. One half of The Deltatones, One third of The Skin Imps. Harvey Stroud's Dad.

I record using a Focusrite Saffire PRO 14 firewire interface. This is connected to my PC which runs Cubase 7 64 bit.
All Guitars, Pianos, Basses, Vocals etc are played live.
Drum are programmed using  BFD2 samples. 
Synths, strings, brass etc are programmed using Cubase's Halion Symphonic.
For Piano sounds I use Steinberg The Grand 3 SE.

Acoustic guitars are played on a Yamaha APX700.
Electric guitars are normally played on my homemade strat with Seymour Duncan 'Everything Axe' pickups.
Bass Guitar is played a stock 5 string Mexican Fender Jazz bass.
For Amps sounds i use VST AMP RACK which comes with Cubase 7. 

Vocals are recorded with a Rode NT-1A condenser Microphone.
Keys and Midi parts all are played on my midi keyboard m-audio oxygen 49.

These recent demos for my new solo album are just rough sketches. The finished versions will be edited, polished up, probably with many parts re-recorded  and then properly eq'd and mixed.
 
This project is purely for my own amusement. I have no delusions of grandeur. I do not expect to get signed, famous or sell a single copy.

Since their initial formation in 2006, this is a band whose determination to write a sunshine melody and fuse it together with a macabre twist, has earned them numerous plaudits from critics and peers alike. 

The band were created with a love of melody and a leaning toward bands with an occult sense of lyricism, while the band will openly admit to loving Blink 182 as much as the obvious influence of Alkaline Trio and AFI. 
The founding core of Matt Black, Adam Davis & Dan Bancroft would not only be the staple songwriting core of the band, but also be its platform of success, found on their first recording "Ashes & Embers". 

Though Genovese began life as a 3 piece punk rock band, as songs were developed and recorded, it became obvious that their raucious live show would need the services of a 2nd guitarist. The local hastings area music scene has always been a gold mine for solid guitarists and the band were able to net the services of ex Captain Snake-eyes member, Anthony Lau. 

Though this was an easy choice for the band to make the drum stool was frequented by no less than 3 drummers on 4 different occasions, and while the band always tried to move forward, this was their achilles heel when translating recordings to live performance. It was this period that they recorded "Postacrds from Crystal Lake", with Ryan Cronshaw briefly on drums (ex Scallywags). 

One evening, during the Summer of 2007, the band decided that in order to push forward with their live show - always fundamental to the bands core ideals - they made a snap decision to move Matt to vocal duties alone. 

While initially nervous about the prospect they called upon Sam Smithers, long term friend of Adam to fill the vacancy. Having learnt their setlist over the course of 3 rehearsals it was clear that the band had made another good decision, further cemented on the 2008 recording of "Broken/Angel with a black heart". 

Following the departure of founding member Dan Bancroft for a second time (though amicable) the band attempted once more to find a replacement drummer, though this was seemingly too difficult task and resulted in the band calling things a day in Spring 2008. 

Fairytale endings are not something the band have ever been used to but following talks in early Summer 2008, it was decided that the band had more to say, so the search for a drummer would continue. At a local show, at a local rock pub, Adam was tipped off by Dan that there was a drummer who would be interested in filling his boots, so he went to see what the fuss was about. 

After watching what he could only describe as the equivalent to "When Mark and Tom first saw Travis play" he began discussing things with the drummer, James Bull, who at the time showed his will to learn by his involvement with 4 other bands simultaneously. 

Once the drumstool was filled, Genovese showed a promise unknown for a long time, while a newly transformed band with increased energy found new songs coming with a sense of ease and accomplishment straight off the bat. 

The current lineup have played every venue that has offered to have them, in a bid to prove furthermore to their critics that they are a force to be reckoned with, while their longstanding DIY ethic along with their newfound enthusiasm has meant increased sales of their last e.p will finance their next effort wholly. 

The band will begin recording of their as yet untitled e.p in December with Dalton Studios while a planned self release show in early 2009 with support bands and after party, set to let the band enjoy the fruits of their labour.... 
 
 


I’ve tried writing a few bio’s for this band so far and to be frank I think most of them have been, well a bit, you know average. So tonight I’m sitting at my laptop watching Aliens and drinking beer whilst attempting to come up with a definitive bio for the Vin’s, so please do bear with me if I wander into drunken ramblings at some point.
 The band was formed by frontman Jme and drummer Jay sometime ago as a punk rock covers band as well as featuring a guy named Paul on bass duties. (I’ve met him a couple of times since joining, he seems alright.) Now Jme would say something like “a constant stream of songwriting led to The Vindickers becoming an originals band.” Personally I think they just got bored of playing the same old covers all the time and decided the band could be more than that. They managed to get enough songs together to record an album in Jme’s bedroom, 2 main reasons for this was that it was cost effective and secondly it was really close to Jme’s fridge. Before The Fall was released and received some pretty good press but the time had come for Paul to leave the band, which in turn left the band on hiatus until Jay and Jme managed to find a replacement.
 Fast forward pretty much a year from that point and a night out on the town led to Jme asking a very drunk, kebab munching me to attend a few rehearsals and see how things went. Those early rehearsals in Jay’s attic (no-one wanted to fork out on a proper room until I was a definite fixture) obviously went very well and in next to no time I was sworn into Vin-hood. We started playing a bunch of gigs but something was still missing, we decided it was another guitar which we could use to drown out the vocals at live shows. Trials were held and we eventually settled on Rob cos his amp head is really heavy which obviously means he’s really good.
 With the band now fully operational and kicking ass we felt Before The Fall was due for a re-release, we even put it on iTunes because you have to do that nowadays in order to appear “cool”. This time round it received glowing reviews with two awarding it 4/5 and one of those saying “...they’ve really pushed themselves to make their debut record as impressive, diverse and unique as possible and are meant for success.” So once again we started hitting the gig’s and soon we were supporting touring bands such as Madcraft, Third Place Victory & ScreamDontWhisper as well as hitting our first outdoor festivals Battfest (which was streamed live to a million internet users) & Eastbourne Extreme. Of course all this gave us the thirst for more so at the end of 2012 we bought our first van so we could finally take this show out on the open road and get a few funny stories about sleeping in a van together and farting at each other.
 All of that pretty much brings us up to now, 2013 which is hopefully gonna be our best year to date. We’re (finally) going to release our 2nd album IMBA, after going on about it for the past year and blow your minds (or at least your load)with it. Keep your eyes and ears on us we’re more than your average band and soon we’re coming to a town near you armed with dickies shirts, white ties and musical awesomeness.

The Vindickers – Buddy Song
 
Set for a good year, with lots of gigs and an album on the way (iMBA), The Vindickers have once again graced us with their presence, and another great track. Infecectiously catchy with plenty of flair and breakdowns, ‘The Buddy Song’ deserves to be played loud, and often. The track is more of a blur than the last one we featured (Before The Fall), but it is by no means inferior; better in some areas, it’s got some awesome lyrics, and we love the bass.
