"The reason I selected this for the series was, for myself, it being personal time piece, the quality of the tracks and the mix being consistently good. Building through some great soulful house vocals and dubs into some deep cuts that haven't dated since it's release in 2002. Having quite a few of these on vinyl picked up around the time, including Mindflight's "Release", Derrick White's "Soul 2 Let Go" and Kerri Chandler's "Atmospheric Beats" the mix by silky deep house man Miguel Migs was never far from the earlobes at the time. And being released on the ever consistently good Naked Music label, its great from start to finish. A true reflection of the kinds of tracks I played out in sets when I started out DJing. Enjoy!!" 065 - Miguel Migs 'Nude Tempo One' recommended by TouchSoul (2002)

We return this week with another edition of 'From the Vault' all vinyl series. The year was 2002 and I had made my first mix CD that I would physically mail (for free) to the listeners. There was an online version of this set but the quality was not great in the Real Audio format at 64kps.

Now this set has been remastered for soundcloud for high quality streaming. These were the years I was obsessed with labels like Naked Music. All my money would be spend buying and ordering vinyl from this legendary label or any white label that was in that sexy Deep House style from the early 2000s

If you were around then and even might have attended the old Scuba underground parties that Naked Music use to throw in San Francisco then you will feel right at home with this set. 20+ year old music that still sounds and stands fresh for those After Hours sexy nights. 

Enjoy and keep your ears and eyes open for more from the vault series as I remaster these sets for the radio show.

The NDYD Radio Show is back this week. EP-362 is a monster of an episode. I dug out some of my old gig playlists from 2010 to about 2015 and picked 40 tracks that were my, and the Heads, favorites from back then. If you were an underground clubber in those years you will recognize some  tracks that were burning the House dance floors of those years. Rare originals, remixes, and edits from your favorite artists.

It's that time again :)

Best of 2024 through out the year on the NDYD Radio Show. I only had one rule for a track to be in this compilation, it had to played during any of the shows that aired in 2024. This is not about how many sold or were popular (or not) just if it made it to a show this past year.

The track didn't have to have come out in 2024 either (tho alot did). Some of the tracks are a few years old but still were worthy of the 'best' in the selection. This was the method to my madness:

- about 60 shows in 2024
- pick one or two favorite track from each show
- that gave me a total of about 150 tracks
- out of the 150 I narrowed down to 100
- split the compilation in two parts:
     1 to 50 and 51 to 100 [coming next week]
- the tracks have no rating in terms of where they appear. I just made sure that they all mixed good together especially by key.

This is just my personal taste for the selection of these tracks - no science behind on how I picked them. This set is overt 4 hours long so make sure you are taking a long drive or train ride if you want to  listen to the whole thing ;)

This is my Holiday gift and thank you note to he faithful listener of the show. I'm posting this on December 25 so it still counts as a gift for your loyalty and support of the NDYD Radio Show over the last 8 years.

NAKED MUSIC TRIBUTE MIX

The Vision Project is currently a one man show lead by Jim Somers.  Hailing from the Chicago northwest suburbs, Jim has been involved in music his entire life and active in the electronic scene for the last 16 years in and around Chicago.  He worked most recently with friend and partner in crime Matt Nitz (Cytomorph) under the pseudonym Paradigm Minds and had a track released on Nookie's drum 'n bass label, Strictly Digital.  Moving into other genres, Jim has begun focusing on The Vision Project and producing drum 'n bass, house, and nu-jazz tracks as well as remixing some tracks from fellow Chicago musician Waltson and LA based artist Stereo Hideout.  Jim released 4 tracks on local label, Trenchant Dubs in the fall of 2013 under the Vision Project name with distribution in all major online digital stores.  Stay tuned for more....
