if you drop a heart on tracks you like, i know what ones are resonating with people and what ones to work on and what to abandon. sometimes the things i like aren't the things that most people like.

My Story:
I used to DJ around Auckland back in the mid 00's under the name Atomik, which I changed due to it being too generic. I was playing Jungle at the time, one of the only people in NZ to be playing ragga jungle , but also the UK stuff. I also took a shot a promotion and promoted my own night 'subversive' .

somewhat semi frequently playing club gigs and had a radio show called 'total eclipse' on BaseFM. I also played a few live PA's using Ableton at various experimental music nights, Version and Soliton

The last party I remember playing was the support slot for Remarc, but as i was the opening DJ hardly anyone was there. Before that I played what I thought was a good set at the old fu on Queen street and decided to take a break on a high note.

I continued uploading tunes I had made to my SoundCloud 
with some good feedback, but started producing under the name 'blitchy' which saw a tune get released on chch earthquake relief album, at this point was focused on glitch hop.

After deciding there wasn't enough interest with my production I decided to hang up my dj/production hat and get a real job (lol).

I first gained some attention in Auckland as a young 20 year old when i did a bootleg remix of Doc Scott's Shadowboxing (without actually sampling the tune at all, mind you) that I posted on Dogsonacid and got DJ Fresh from BC asking me to send him tunes.  

Later on tunes were picked up that i was producing in the jungle techno 'jtek' revival genre and played  by UK Dj Pilgrim, one of the orignals from the early jungle techno days. Not a well known name in NZ but in the UK recently he is playing support slots for Goldie and Doc Scott.

I gave away most of my music for free, with 1000's of free downloads served up via SoundCloud. 

Recently I've had offers to release bass house on a Brazilian label.

I now have a good real job, I am an engineer, but I feel like i still want to make music, even in my 40's. So I'm working on some new tunes, unsure if they will resonate with people, but approaching it from a lot more professional angle this time, with the aim of doing an indy album release, once I feel I am ready. I'm not really sure on the genre, I still love jungle and dubstep, but I really have no idea what is popular now, the landscape has shifted so much.

I've always been quite a private person and sometimes did not enjoy that 'all eyes on me' situations of djing, and have probably passed up some good opportunities, but i just love music, the process of creation and i don't like just one particular sub-genre, so never really wanted to get stuck in one.
