This is a live recording, captured at Ego club in Düsseldorf, June 5 1999.  The music has been created with a self written step sequencer, the PX-18, controlling  a basic sample player and effects engine, all done in MaxMSP, running on a Powerbook G3. The step sequencer had some unique features, e.g. the ability to switch patterns independently in each track, which later became an important part of a certain music software.

I found the recording on a backup disk today. It has not been edited or mastered. During the first 20 minutes of the set, and before the 'encore' the Monolake CD 'Gobi' is playing in the background.

Gelka, the duo that has been on such labels like Om Records, Ministry of Sound, Stereo Deluxe, Wax On Records or Warp, and who are known for electronizing the sunsets contemporary downtempo the most modern way one could imagine, kicks off the summer season with a very own EP, after countless appearances on Café Del Mar. Teaming up with their permanent vocalist, Phoenix Pearle, known from Nightmares On wax, they returned with a delicate, fine and melodic song, Million Nights, remixed by @Synkro, in addition to Marcel and @Forteba.

...Alex says: Usually i feel the need to collect moments of inspiration, situations that brings me different circumstances in my life: sometimes a landscape or a simple composition of shapes or sounds. 
When I connect with an idea awakens in me a strong impulse to portray it in a graphic way through my compositions, emphasizing much more its creative and conceptual content than the technical factor. 
"Layers" is the result of superimposing all those elements, creating a chromatic environment of shapes and colors that have the cold and dense landscape of nature as a guiding thread, the main image of the disc contributes giving this visual focus, those elements alive and Artificial, give meaning to all content.

We are super happy that he managed to find the time and make this incredible mix for us.  

Long awaited maeve compilation ‘Heavy Rotations’ is set to be released on June 8th. The multifaceted package features such amazing talents like Mano Le Tough, Isolee, Mattheis, Oliver Deutschmann, Ed Davenport and the man himself The Drifter, just to name a few. The enigma that is Township Rebellion will be heading down under for their debut Australian appearance. The German-born duo, who have been working collaboratively since 2013, has been flying under the radar for years now, but recently they have started to turn some heads with their carefully executed main room sound that has found favour with a global audience. 

Already this year they have worked their magic on punters at Fusion and Unterholz Music Festivals, and their latest EP, the deliciously titled ‘Balance', is a perfect example of the Township Rebellion sound: affecting progressive melodies and big deep basslines that is undeniable.
