I started this mix over one year ago and it’s fair to say it’s been an epic slog. Trying to find tracks that have stood the test of time, that were ‘mixable’ and worked within the context of the overall sound I wanted to achieve was difficult. It’s no exaggeration to say that I’ve put 100’s of hours into this.

In terms of track selection I’ve gone for the period in time that, in my opinion, represented the pinnacle of the progressive genre; the period that followed the experimental phase of the mid 90s and preceded the ‘everything sounds the same and must have a vocal’ phase from the early 2000s onwards. There are some great tracks in there, including the timeless ‘Cass & Slide – Perception’ and the Forbidden Future mix of Paul Van Dyk’s ‘Forbidden Fruit’, which features one of the greatest goose bump inducing breakdowns of all time.
