Radio Diffusion is an electronic music project founded by Hans Staudinger and Sebastian Badics - both DJs, producers and passionate music enthusiasts. Call it fate, coincidence or simply great timing, their paths crossed on a music event on a farm in the wilderness of Upper Austria. Soon they discovered their mutual romantic idea about electronic music and they joined forces in order to lift their power to a whole new level.
Of course neither of them are unknown in the Austrian music scene – lost in the Viennese downtempo-hype of the late 90s, Hans Staudinger already gained stage-experiences with live-electronic performances and residencies in eminent clubs such as FLEX and Donau. By 2006, he was co-founder of Flex Vinyls and a year later he published his first release "Now and Then", which clearly reflected his love for Chicago house. Hooked on techno and underground house, he started collecting vintage synthesizers and developed his producing skills while continuing his work on his farm.
While always feeling a great passion and appreciation for electronic music, it was during the late 90's that Sebastian Badics started to buy his own techno and house vinyl. From that point forward it did not take long until he began playing his own gigs at secret afterparties on a farm near Linz, which quickly led to various small but vastly successful events during the following years. While still producing techno and house in his home studio until 2004, his love from Drum n Bass eventually triggered a change in style. Only a year later, in 2005, he did Drum n Bass / Reggae events in some of Linz's most famous locations like the Tunnel, Posthof or Cembran Keller, quickly gaining more popularity among fans of the scene. While music was his passion, he still finished his studies in 2009 and started working at the renowned Ars Electronica Center, one of Linz's most well known attractions.
In 2010 Hans Staudinger teamed up with Sebastian Badics and RADIO DIFFUSION was born as an authentic’n’synergetic strike duo with a clear-cut course: REALNESS & EGALITÉ! Delivering their precious tunes on a par with their beloved crowd, their live-sets are always a well balanced blend of references to the past, snapshots of the present and their own progress.
Their biggest hit was a release with Compost Records in spring 2013. The single “BHVL” caught the attention of a huge audience and has been broadcasted on several radio stations in Austria (e.g. FM4) and beyond.
Heavy baselines, driving synth chords, sophisticated drum-programming – that’s the world of RADIO DIFFUSION!

Radio Diffusion - BHVL (Nico Pusch Remix)

EastColors teams up with Noel on Mudguard, and you better prepare to get dirty on this one. A light, airy intro which takes us back to the Future Sound Of Russia days, drops into a murky, moody bass monster, laying down a bassline the likes of which you just don’t hear nowadays. Claustrophobic, confining and catastrophic, this one’ll have the heads going crazy. Totally immersive, this one not only sets up another world, it fully populates it with sound. The beats are crazy, the bass is perfect, and once again EC, with Noel, shows that the hype about him is totally justified.

JacobM Deep Intelligent DnB Jan2014 Mix

I recently found a whole bunch of mixes I did between 1992 and 1997 and have started the long process of ripping the cassettes to mp3.
As I work through them in no particular order I’ll put them up for download.
Remember the sound quality isn’t great as they were all recorded on belt drive decks through a mixer with no EQ and committed to cassette on a shabby home stereo…But what the hell, it’s that authentic 90s sound through and through.

This one is from 1993. This mixing is terrible but the tunes are great. The track list is lost in the mists of my memory I’m afraid but maybe one of you can ID all the tracks.

The 6th release for the emerging Addictive Behaviour label comes in the form of relative scene newcomers Handra – an exciting new duo hailing from Poland – who’s dark, yet at points liquid tinged, minimal take on DnB hints that we will be hearing a lot of from these two in the future. 

The two cuts on offer, set for worldwide release on September 15th, combine a nice ear for melody and harmonic progression alongside top notch sound design and banging, uncomplicated, rolling dancefloor beats. Elements of found sound, lively up the compositions adding a unique twist to their tightly coiled, minimal old school referencing productions, with disembodied pitched vocal samples offering up almost Burial-esq moments of emotional nostalgia.

Coat of Dust kicks things off in a sombre, reflective mood, with sun soaked piano riffs combining with a ping pong vocal sample, rhythmic foley and sound effects creating a moving backdrop for the tune to reside in. Warm, undulating slabs of classic 80s reese  bass finally unite with a crisp, rolling drum track, peppered with unique sounding one-shots, clinical drum fills and techy bass fluctuations creating a nice juxtaposition of liquid and dark, minimal styles.

With heaps of experience to draw on, and a forward thinking label backing them, we can only imagine that big things are afoot for Handra.

Philipp Stoya's first musical experience started in the well known club "Kassablanca" which is strongly linked to a famous local label, he explored clubs like "Muna", Leipzigs "Distillery", Hamburgs "BaalSaal", Berlin´s "Kleine Reise" or notorious "Berghain", After his first released track "Triohu" on Compost Black Label #83, Philipp decided to take a little distance from clubbing and get more focused on producing. He lingers this summer at "Fusion Festival" sitting right next to the "Turmbühne" where he thought about what Christian Prommer said:  "It is not about getting coolness, it´s about to be satisfied with your own production and see how the music reaches the people on a emotional level.“  Philipp finished his second musical piece „Ransd“ in order to bring the „partyfist in the air“. Check out Philipp Stoya´s remixes coming out soon for: Marbert Rocel „Lax Sax“, Siff Sicious „Fisten“ and Madpac „Angry Nerds“. We are excited.

Lukas Bohlender is living in Munich. His first release is a beatiful deep layered paddy house track. The title refers to the little club, where his parents met at in the 70's. Hence 'Club Château' is to a certain extent the birthplace of his music. And at the same time embodies his search for the perfect loop.

Martin Brodin, producer and DJ, start up with Sweden’s deep-house label „Deeplay Music“ in 2005 he decided to go back to his roots and founding the label MB Disco in 2010. Influenced by his collection of dusty and rare vinyls, which comes from the Seventies to mid Eighties. He will release his debut album „Bla Bla Bla“ fall/winter 2012 on MB Disco. Previous release on Buzzin Fly, Mood Music, Gomma Dance Tracks, Mullett Records have been hammered by the likes of Aeroplane, The Glimmers, Tensnake and Erol.
