Inspired by the roadmap of the UK, The B Roads is the alias of multi-instrumentalist John Paul Turner, mixing jazz, folk, minimal and blues to create impressions of middle age middle England. The music takes some reference from his last album ‘Senseless acts of beauty’ (Sonoris 2003) which was compared to Mark Hollis, Nick drake, Tape, Satie and Eno, and described as: “One of the most ear catching albums of the year” –BBC Late Junction show “. ABOUT.

Played in the original wave of northern post rock, before moving to London, fronting lounge lizards style groups till the mid 90’s. Further years of psych Jazz (Trance-mission), Improv (Celeste), and Minimal (Senseless) all leave traces through an acoustic filter leading onto The B-roads.
