We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

'The good, The Bad & Pedro's' examines a surreal account of a night out at a local dive bar.

The band decided to re-record the track throughout 2021/22 to better reflect the bands current sound following their evolution from a duo into a five piece. The band will return to the studio in May 2022 to record a new EP with a tentative release date towards the later half of the year,

Due for release towards the end of June to coincide with the bands show at Club academy on June 25th

Welcome back friends and Listeners,

The month of May was very kind to Tim & I insofar as inspiration and opportunities to improvise and record together... and this piece was the fruit of our last session, just after the world-wide Auroras  of May 10th.

We found ourselves in a different modal tonality in this one and hope you will enJoy it's tones and phrasings. Tim was playing his Telecaster and once again i was on the ancient Upright Grand Piano. 

He often characterizes our interactions as being born of Strings (for guitar and piano strings) and Bells (for piano tones). The other element, Winds, refers to Spirit.

But we will leave you, the Listener... to decide what you liken to.

Inspired by the roadmap of the UK, The B Roads is the alias of multi-instrumentalist John Paul Turner, mixing jazz, folk, minimal and blues to create impressions of middle age middle England. The music takes some reference from his last album ‘Senseless acts of beauty’ (Sonoris 2003) which was compared to Mark Hollis, Nick drake, Tape, Satie and Eno, and described as: “One of the most ear catching albums of the year” –BBC Late Junction show “. "Like chamber music played by gangsters, mixed by minimalists” –Priceminster. “Duritti column on the piano”. –Vital Weekly, and “An acoustic masterpiece.” -Art into life.com.

ABOUT.

Played in the original wave of northern post rock, before moving to London, fronting lounge lizards style groups till the mid 90’s. Further years of psych Jazz (Trance-mission), Improv (Celeste), and Minimal (Senseless) all leave traces through an acoustic filter leading onto The B-roads.
