*Introducing “The Axis EP” by Fractured Frequencies*  

Fractured Frequencies—comprised of longtime drum and bass veterans Intakt and Infraction—proudly present their debut release, The Axis EP. This 4-track journey  reimagined through a modern lens. For these two producers, it’s not just about reviving the sound that defined them—it’s about pushing its boundaries into new realms.

From the very first listen, The Axis EP showcases the duo’s dedication to marrying intricate sound design with raw, dancefloor energy. This is drum and bass built for the future but deeply rooted in its underground past.

1. *Axis*  
The title track sets the tone with haunting atmospheres and driving percussion. Built around a chilling sample of NASA’s recording of Earth’s rotation, “Axis” takes listeners on a cosmic journey. The weighty basslines grind and shift beneath eerie textures, giving this tune a sense of gravity all its own.  

2. *Bad Man*  
A relentless anthem, “Bad Man” balances gnarly bass stabs with razor-sharp drum patterns. Expect layers of intricate production that flip between aggressive rhythms and a groove that will move any crowd. A salute to jungle heritage with a Techstep edge.  

3. *Bone Breaker*  
If dancefloors had warning labels, this track would wear one proudly. With heavy, chest-rattling basslines and percussion sharp enough to cut through concrete, “Bone Breaker” delivers exactly what its name promises: a track that hits hard and never lets up.  

4. *Differences*  
Closing the EP is “Differences,” a roller that merges soulful textures with fractured, syncopated rhythms. This one strikes a reflective tone without losing the forward momentum, reminding listeners why diversity in sound makes drum and bass such an unstoppable force.

As individual artists, Intakt and Infraction spent years honing their craft, immersed in the sounds of Techstep’s golden era. Together as Fractured Frequencies, they’re on a mission to channel the gritty, intricate energy of their roots while making something unmistakably their own. Incandescent with tension and rage, ‘Mindless Silence’ is another provocative, emotionally-charged stomper. A fired-up take on a protest song in solidarity with the civil rights movement, it’s the sound of Ekwols thrashing out his feelings and frustrations in the studio, trying to make sense of a grossly misshapen, greedy and unfair world.

It's a far cry from the world Ekwols wants to see. As his name suggests, Ekwols stands for total and utter equality and inclusivity across the board. And we can expect many more of these type of messages in his music moving forward.

New to Evolution Chamber but not new to the game, Ekwols has had many projects and aliases beyond D&B throughout the 2000s, but this is his most accomplished project so far. Creatively, technically, sonically – Ekwols is the sound of a man who’s spent his life dedicated to music and artistic freedom and fusion. Much more nerve-wracking material is expected to land in the future and we guarantee it will make your palms sweaty and have you weak at the knees. Lose yourself in the music.
