[BIO:]
Hekato is a young Polish artist who lives in Berlin, who is at the same time her home, inspiration and theater for realizing her own artistic dreams. It is impossible to list all her artistic activities, the most important of which are: electronic music, drawing, painting and tailoring. Her adventure with electronic music began a few years ago, when she was living in Poland. Mere participation in events and experiencing the emotions provided by electronic music became insufficient. Over time, her desire to create and build a sound based on her own expression of character made her constantly perfect her mixing skills. Her style and musical inspiration are the feelings and emotions she identifies with and which she has often experienced. The mix of groove, hypnotic sounds and sometimes industrial accents she serves is always a different, new experience that turns into an interesting story.

Framework co-founder SJ takes the reins for Episode 4 of Yax Invites. Have a read of his bio below, along with some words about his contribution towards the mix series:

I am a 21-year-old DJ based in Manchester UK and co-founder of Manchester based collective and podcast series, Framework. 

My first route into electronic music was around the age of 15 where I started to get in to house music, leading me to gain a strong love for Chicago and Detroit house. Around this time, I basically used to spend hours listening to music on YouTube and through these algorithms I discovered tracks such as Black Russian and all DVS1s early Klockworks releases which remain some of my favourite pieces of music, with DVS1 being my idol and main source of inspiration, and essentially opened up a whole new musical world to me.

This in turn led me deeper into the electronic music spectrum, sparking an interest in Detroit techno, resulting in me seeing artists such as Robert Hood in my mid to late teens. Ever since I have built a strong passion for techno, delving deeper and deeper into the many different facets of the genre which has resulted in my current taste, revolving particularly around deep, sci-fi and mental hypnotic techno as I see this as more than just simply music, it is something much more powerful than that and the ability of music and sonics to alter your mind states and moods on the dance floor is something I find fascinating.

I love the concept of an extended mix series as I feel that extended mixes are the best way to truly portray your sound and tell your story, as opposed to feeling the need to hammer it out from the off which is the instinct that can arise with shorter mixes. 

For this mix I aimed to tell a story, weaving in different atmospheres and textures to build tension and have different twists and turns before ending on some groovier sounds and old school Detroit classics.

Yax Invites #004 - SJ

Denise Rabe released her first 12” on German imprint Mutewax
in 2015. A solo EP on Arts sub label Arts Collective quickly
succeeded her debut the same year, leading up to the label
publishing her third release in 2017. This is also the year
Denise actualized her own eponymous label Rabe (Raven
engl.). September 2019 she announced her EP „Manifesto“ on
the well established label Stroboscopic Artefacts.
Rabe the label, just like its founder, is all about techno. So far,
three hyper modern brutalist sounding 12-inches from Denise
herself has seen the light of day. Rabe’s productions are frantic
yet deep industrial adventures, all carrying a hefty gothic
presence. Her talent has not only caught the ears of eager
fans, but also of recognized producers such as Rrose and
Shxcxchcxsh, who both have contributed remixes for the artist.
Brought up on hip hop in a small German town, Denise learned
to DJ at the age of 16, scratching and mixing, later diving

KXYXꓘ - His adventure with music began in his early childhood. Once a founder of a
hardcore punk band and an organizer of rock events, he is now searching for ways to express
himself as a live performer, producer, and DJ.
His sets are stories filled with emotions and energy, representing a rebellious soul and an open
mind to a wide spectrum of electronic music genres. In his selection and production, you can
hear inspirations from many styles, and also pay special attention to the depth of rhythm and
melody, constantly triggering a feedback of energy between the sound system and the
audience.
Currently, he is focused on developing his skills as a live performer in the groove techno
style, which reflects his inner experiences and is a way of expressing his emotions.

"Pioneering New Frontiers Without Fear!"  

...except, perhaps, the fear of what the thick bass and hard beats in this track will damage your speakers.  That might be a rational fear to be concerned about.  

Although I appreciate it from a fan of the genres of electronic dance music that center around the deeply distorted 808 kicks and sub bass, I rarely spun those genres when I was a club dj AND I'm not sure I've intentionally made any Interbay tracks in those genres either.  

I tend to prefer my kicks to be crisp, rather than flooding the ears and pressing the woofer membranes to a tautly constant outward pressure.  

However, I do appreciate the room for me to be adventurous when it comes to the Interbay tracks that I produce...so, be prepared for your graphic equalizer's lower frequencies to be solidly in the red for much of this track.  

There's a lot going on in this song, but I strongly believe that there IS structure here.  The structure isn't static, but it does continue to evolve and, hopefully build, through the track to its chaotic climax--with occasional beatless sections where you might feel like you would if you'd been born slippy (though, that particular piece of the Underworld is not sampled in this song.  Actually, compared to some Interbay tracks, there are relatively few samples in this one...so calm down all you trainspotters.)  

As always, I  hope you like this track as much as I do.  Mostly, I hope that many more of you are willing to give this track a listen, compared to how few of you felt that yesterday's track, "Assembly Instructions", which happens to be the second EVER Interbay song in its "Rethink, Remake, Remix" version, exclusive here on SoundCloud, was worth taking a peek at...    

It is a charming quasi-electro sort of thing with a cheery conceit at its heart...and perhaps, when you're done listening to (and liking, and reposting, and sharing, and commenting on, and adding to one of your playlists) TODAY'S track ("Pioneering New Frontiers")...you'd be so kind as to check out yesterday's track as well?  It would be appreciated.
