She!k is a live modular techno artist and producer from South London.

Evoking emotion and movement through intense live performance and studio production of modular techno; 
She!k combines carefully crafted found sounds and textures, layering them with heavily processed synths, noise and percussion 
from his steadily expanding cases of eurorack modules, samplers and filters.

She!k's live performances are improvised, unplanned, spontaneous and often chaotic; fuelled by crowd energy and reaction and filled with ever-building layers of percussive, industrial sounds and infectious rhythms.

From his South London home studio, She!k produces tough, uncompromising techno, heavily influenced by the sounds and aesthetic of the surrounding environment.
She!k takes field recordings from home, the city, in transit,  construction sites, hospitals, etc. as well as heavily processed percussion and synth voices taken from the modular, manipulated into rhythmic, driving tracks.

The techno scene in London is varied, vibrant and currently very alive and She!k regularly attends events large and small acrross the city, taking great pleasure in meeting other producers, promoters as well as
always listening and learning from the different artists and styles.


In this recording for The Error, I have focused on energy. 
The recent techno club nights I've enjoyed in London have been really intense. Before I embark on a recording or performance, I prepare a variety of kicks and hat patterns which I feel will compliment a driving techno liveset, which I blend with distortion loops , noise etc.
This forms a solid base with which to improvise synth pads, atmosphere, noise, fx, etc.
My aim when I perform is to get into a flow state, where I don't actually feel in control of what I'm doing and I think that this really comes accross in the performance.
The crowd can sense the edge and this only adds to the energy.
