Bankroll Records was created in the Spring of 2003 with a bankroll and a dream. He knew if he was going to proceed with this dream he needed his own studio. So he purchased a beat down trailer and fixed it up like brand new, sound proofed it from top to bottom with carpet and filled it with the best studio equipment money could buy. Along with his brother he got a team of artist together and began work on recording music to make a cd and the first cd he made was titled “Blood Sweat and A Bankroll vol. 1. He gave it away to friends, family and his whole neighborhood and got good feedback. From there he went on to make Pushing Money, Big Bank Take Little Bank, and Blood Sweat and A Bankroll vol.2.
Professionalism
When Bankroll first started making music he bought blank cd’s and just wrote the name of the project on the cd. But he knew if he was going to keep this up he would have to step his game up. So he found someone who duplicates and print up cd’s and to this day he still deals with the same guy. Bankroll feels that loyalty will get you far so he never crossed anyone dealing with his music and if they did good business he stayed doing business with them. He designed his own cd and dvd covers and got professional artwork done. Bankroll motto is “If you’re going to play the part, you have to look the part.” He later started school to enhance his profession and is currently working on an Associate Degree at Remington College, where he is getting the best education for his buck, or should I say his Bankroll.
Doing Shows
Bankroll has never been shy towards a crowd so he knew doing shows would be come easy. Before he had the name Bankroll everyone called him by his nickname “Lil Donnie” but since his record label was Bankroll Records, one day after one of his performances a security guard was telling him how much he enjoys his performances, and he didn’t know his name so he kept calling him Bankroll, because of the label and the name Bankroll just stuck. Bankroll has did shows all across Mississippi, Atlanta, Arkansas, and every club and hole in the wall in Memphis, TN. He self-proclaimed himself “The Hole In The Wall King” Bankroll rise to stardom is sure to come; we’ll just be patient and watch him grow. Bankroll Records LLC researched by Keith Austin II.
