A new set from the Before The Curfew series, performed by Shjva at Ground Floor on February 17th, is now available on our SoundCloud. 

Shjva is a Ukrainian artist, the founder of the label Penumbrum, based in Warsaw. Shjva has firmly established herself on the Polish electronic scene as a talented artist and representative of Ukrainian musical culture. Her recent performance at the Community Event stood out for its hyper-immersive tech house and progressive, low-frequency goa-sound, and expressive trance vibes.

Before the Curfew is a series of music podcasts that emerged in 2022 after the reopening of the club following the liberation of the Kyiv region. All recordings presented in this series take place before midnight before the curfew begins. Before the Curfew offers a vibrant snapshot of the Ukrainian music scene amidst challenging times, celebrating resilience, creativity, and unity through music.

Big Hands is the main moniker of the artist also known as Andrea Ottomani, Andrea Ottomani Nontet and Otto Von Lumi. Mainly known for his serpentine and labyrinthine electronic productions that found home on labels such as Al Wootton's Trule, Blank Mind, Vargmal and his own Baroque Sunburst.
In recent years, he has developed an intimate and personal electronic sound that owes as much to free jazz and psych-rock as it does to more leaden styles such as dub and techno.

About the set, Andrea said: "This is 50 mins with me and a pair of 1200s - super fluid, rough & jumping between genres. Let's all boycott Spotify."
