Originally from a metalcore and hardcore background he has always enjoyed electronic and
experimental music. Heavily influenced by this and the techno scene in Leipzig, Germany with
its well known Institut fuer Zukunft his focus are impulsive rhythms, dissociative sounds and
dark and eerie atmospheres. As a founding member of PVC he is also co-organising raves in
clubs and woods around the Leipzig area. For a few years now he has been exploring the world
of producing. Releasing on Labels like Crescent London, Further Sessions, Proselytizing or
Charybdis he is establishing himself in the scene always seeking to refine his sound.

@kimkenis is the next artist to feature on the Above Below mix series. Hailing from Belgium, Kim has made appearances at festivals across Europe including Waking Life and Doel. It is our pleasure to welcome her to the Above Below family. 

The mix fuses numerous styles including Dub, Dub Techno, Deep Techno and House, exploring the intricate areas that these genres can venture to. Percussive, melodic and atmospheric elements flow throughout. Kim's seamless DJ style, combines these components with ease. 

The tone has been set and we look forward to hearing more this June.

Nestled in the inner city of Basel, Switzerland, lies one of the more progressive and experimental outposts you can find for techno music: Timnah Sommerfeldt. A bastion for new and intrepid sounds to blur the lines between tempos, beats and space - it’s a platform that allows Timnah - in conjunction with her cohorts Garçon, Agonis, and Varuna - to continually define and redefine the non-existent.

By bringing a deeper, fourth world and atmospheric mix to her sound - the Timnah Sommerfeldt effect is as cerebral as it is rhythmic and immersive. With the gregarious side of techno seemingly always within earshot - it’s artist’s like Timnah Sommerfeldt who posses the ability to embrace entire spectrums of genre, making for a wholly beguiling experience every time.

Boyd Schidt, alias of Levan (Leon) Lolishvili, has been a force in Tbilisi's techno scene since 2010. As a versatile artist, his techno spans genres, leaving a mark as one-half of Greenbeam & Leon. A KHIDI resident, he's integral to shaping the club's sound. Part of Berlin's Sonic Groove, his tracks grace labels like KHIDI, Deestricted, Front Left Records, and more.
