Emmie, based in Ngunnawal, has been one of Canberra’s most flourishing selectors over the past two years. Emmie’s ability to mix and match more experimental, mind-bending and sinister prog, tek, electro, and dnb has landed Emmie as a regular at “sideway” - Canberra’s very own nightclub with international recognition for their quality acts, sound and culture. Emmie’s technical prowess and feminine touch has been sought after by organisers and audiences. This has landed Emmie on bills with some of the most prominent names in providing underground sounds, including: Higher Intelligence Agency, Helena Hauff, Woody 92, Sleep D, Object Blue, TSVI and Roza Terenzi. Enjoy the next hour that Emmie has curated for Chalkboard TT, consisting of a blend of deep, swampy, futuristically padded and progressive tunes. They have quickly established themselves for having seamless synchronicity on stage and creating an atmosphere that reflects the strong connection they share. 2SB have been making waves in Manchester’s profound music scene in the last year having played some of their favourite community spaces such as The Old Abbey Taphouse, DBA, Stage & Radio and Partisan. Sharing these stages with notable artists such as Blumitsu, Papa Nugs, J.Wax, Aloka, and Roska - 2SB are rapidly gaining recognition for performances that push the boundaries of musical exploration. They invite you aboard their musical vessel as they embark on an hour long mix navigating currents of beats and bass that promise to make your auditory voyage unforgettable! 

We had the pleasure of meeting Syd and Beth this year whilst travelling through the UK. Their energy, chemistry and approach to music inspired us both. We feel like it’d be a special inclusion for the debut month.

Chalkboard TT #002 -2SB (MCR)

Peachlyfe is a hydra-sonic electronic musician thats hook & seduced the Copenhagen fast-paced techno scene, claiming their seat along with the Fast Forward Agency. Peachlyfe’s productions and live sets rebelliously weave across genres, trippy melodies cut with heavy slaps while slithering whispers in your ears owing the dismantlement of the ‘cistem’. Their previous EPs “All Tits are Real, All Money is Fake, All Hail Satan”, “Swamplyfe”, and “Against All Reason” are odes to that anarchic playfulness, a marvellous feat in blending rave-rush joy and queer defiance.Their recent EP “Boī\_(ツ)_/ ̄” serves equal parts juicy techno and epic trance with that Peachlyfe trademark:The shenanigans are continuously brought to yet another level. 

This Chalkboard TT mix is a live recording from Petra’s set when we had the pleasure to host them at “sideways” earlier this year (02.09.2023). It was a treat to be able to show Petra our little city and it has been special to have stayed connected since. Enjoy this 70 minutes of uniformed hard hitting kicks from one of the driving forces in today’s techno scene!

Hey we are Angus and august, and we’re super stoked to be featured on the mix series. If you’re interested in us, we’re just a couple of guys living in a share house and we have decks. 
We’ve been fortunate enough to play at some really sick events, such as badger dens sessions, bush doofs and even our own sideway gig. We’ve opened for some well known DJs like Klon Dump, Willem and Kaysteng, as well as supporting our mates Luca, gollings, and joe negrine. We present to you 60 minutes of our favourite tracks. Wrapping up the year with a bang, we've got @thrivedmusic in the mix with a weighty 2h live recording. 

The Berlin based DJ, production and live act duo consisting of @dj_ion & @tymotica take no prisoners in this expertly executed excursion into their sound. High energy, club ready selections strike the perfect balance between techno and bass elements, a skill that they also display in their formidable recent "Bionic Gradient" EP, out on @voitax.

Isaac (d.hyun), co-owner of Turning Tables, founded the collective during lockdown 2021. Turning Tables had its origin in Soundcloud Radio and showcased Nugunnawal’s (Canberra’s) DJs at house parties. When restrictions eased, floor-bending kitchen sets turned into club nights and parties in the paddock. Isaac has a preposterous love for tunes, with a mania for deep meditative groove. This hour Isaac has curated for Chalkboard displays his devotion to modern jungle, techno-infused drum and bass and IDM. Isaac has showcased the darker side of his collections with tracks that are heavier to digest but full of meaning. A selection that has intertwined dub-infused basslines and soulful percussion with futuristically digital and spacey techno and IDM elements. This mix pays homage to the foundations and the past whilst maintaining a forward-thinking perception towards jungle/DnB. A journey through percussive broken beats, experimental techno-dub, dark breaks and bouncy jungle - meditation.

Under his Shai FM moniker, Jia Liu (@shaifm) creates and plays percussive music with a global orientation. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, he draws upon a wide spectrum of bass and club, connecting threads across cultures, geographies, and eras. His sets are shapeshifting explorations of rhythm and emotion, from dubby downtempo to floor-shaking drum workouts. His latest EP “Bend and Break” explores these sounds, along with a recent release with SF Bay Area label Club Moniker.
