Berlin-based @dj_derive finds her inspiration in the relationship between urban contexts and individuals, stretching the repetitive patterns of social automations into unpredictable soundscapes. As a mimic chameleon capable of adaptive situationisms, Johanna drifts from side to side with a rich density of bass modulations, ambience vocals and rhthmic disruptions, causing emotional disorientation and physical displacement. Glad to share with you the first volume of our new mix series, lazed. A monthly rendez-vous imagined as a new playground of musical expression focused on listening music. 

For this first episode, we're glad to welcome the artist Elvira. Inspired by her different sound practices in the performing arts and the electro-acoustic environment, she owns a very singular take on electronic music that is slowly making its way to ears around Europe. 

Elvira: « I imagined a cockroach wandering in a desert, the sun hitting hard causing dehydration leading to hallucinations. Sometimes voices appear, other times insects squeak. At some point the cockroach is tormented cus it falls on his back and is incapable of turning around. »

Micah Heathwood, is a producer, composer and
instrumentalist based in Ngunnawal/Ngambri
region, Canberra, Australia. Micah’s debut release
‘Club Oof’ boasts collaborations with Horatio
Luna and David Versace, performing to elated
crowds across Australia at venues and festivals
like Infinity Worm, Big Sound, Groovin the Moo,
The Night Cat, Sideway, Colour Club, and Black
Bear Lodge.

Micah has shared the stage with acts like Mildlife,
Shady Nasty, YL Hooi, Surprise Chef, Hybrid Man,
30/70, DJ Life, Don Glori, and Barney McAll.
Micah’s music is a combintiona between IDM,
jazz and club inspired beats creating an exciting
invitation to a unique live music experience.

The mix features voice samples of the 2021 documentary “Little Palestine, Diary of a Siege” by Abdallah Al-Khatib about biggest Palestinian refugee camp – Yarmouk, in Damascus, Syria.

About the anger of having to face so many atrocities and still finding beauty in everyday life. I selected some of my favorite tune for this mix as a soundtrack to feel but also staying resilient.
