Born out of a love for Ngunnawal/Ngambri's beautiful surrounds, a passion for music, and an aversion to UV rays, Sunburn began as a good excuse to get outside and listen to loud music. Our aim was to reduce the barrier to entry for people to enjoy, create and perform music and art in a scene which often takes itself too seriously. 

As the years have come and gone both the events and the soundsystems have gotten bigger. The fun has remained and we hope it does for many more years to come. In this way we hope to foster diversity and add to the strength of the music and arts scene.

Lurking in the undergrowth of Australia's music scene, @r00ts_au is one of the sharpest talent scouts going around. Shining a light on Australia's underground music scenes, while also uplifting fellow music media personnel and visual artists, the Canberra-based journalist is shifting the way people consume music content.

Through mediums like digital art, write-ups, videos, new release features, and interviews, his raw, internet-indebted aesthetic has already helped him flesh out a world within itself, while also producing scene-leading coverage. Inspired to delve into the scenes that the rest of the industry misses, he's featured the likes of Sidney Phillips, Scan and Sus1er, Lil Ket, and Ninajirachi on the platform. His work has also brought together artists who have gone on to collaborate - a particular source of pride.
