Adrift

I Spelled My Name but the Wind Forgot

The latest in my explorations into free improvisation, "illusory" is an impressionistic piece put together with soft trailing interwoven melodies, bright tones and an immersive atmosphere.

My approach throughout the making of this track was to try and create a soundscape that's reminiscent of being stuck in a daydream accompanied by strange & colourful sounds.

Last Exit To Prague

It’s been a busy month again outside the music scene and with so many promos coming our way, decided that in the time we had between other projects would compile & release together two separate editions for November, giving us a breather for our last sessions of the year in December.  The first podcast, no 221, features melodic uptempo music, progressive, sequential & energetic, with Berlin School-influenced tracks to round off a storming set of sequencing heaven for some of you. In the second, no 222, we delve into ambient music, the light & dark side, experimental and neo-classical, creating atmospheric futuristic & dramatic soundscapes, genuinely engaging.

As always, we are governed by the releases that come in every month; we’ve certainly had our fair share this time of ambient, symphonic, neo-classical & experimental stuff for this podcast. 
In addition to what would have been Vangelis’s 80th birthday, there are tributes from Michael Neil on his album ‘Into Infinity’, & Aural Films, with thirty-seven artists from around the world who have contributed their own reflections on his vast career, four & half hours of music, we’ve selected four tracks from this special collection titled ‘Tears In The Rain’. Someone you may not have heard of, Philip Jeck, who died last year, worked with old records and record players salvaged from junk shops. He really did play them as musical instruments, genuinely creating moving and transfixing music where we hear the art, not the gimmick. On the album ‘Stardust’ he collaborated with Faith Coloocia.

We begin with Johan Tronestam’s latest release, full of melodic music on 'Cosmic Drama Part 2'.
