Moving seamlessly between the raspy timbre of James Brown to the melodic whimsy of Paul McCartney, his musicality recalls the old greats while his inventive and playful approach is entirely new. Umbra and the Volcan Siege was founded in 2006 by Jim Licka embracing his "super hero ultra-identity" as UMBRA.  Umbra is surrounded by his siege of musicians which help create a sound-scape of genre bending music.

The Anna Maze is comprised of two core members, Anna Maze and Jim Licka with a rotating cast of other musicians. This band is a refreshing mixture of dark indie country, and the blues; think Jonny Cash and June Carter, if they were from Chicago.
