This is not the first version of this song that I've recorded. I keep returning to it - I clearly love it. It appears, augmented, on The Rowan Amber Mill release Golden Strings To Tether The Sun. Here is the UnMilled version, and as close to my idea of how it sounded in my head as I can make it. At present it's only a rough mix. I hope to find someone to mix it properly. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy it.

All instruments running through Mackey Desk into Peavy SP-4G speaker mains facing inward to activate the reverb threshold/ sweet spot of the room.

Drums recorded by memory of the story in one take against metronome - track built up with subsequent single take guitar layers, bass, then vocals. No overdubs or edits. 

All instruments recorded through Mackey 1604 VLZ pre-amps, direct out into Zoom H8, into Pro-tools. No effects added in post, all audio is straight recorded signal.

Le Duo est né en octobre 2008 d’une rencontre impromptue en région Centre entre deux musiciens issus de la musique traditionnelle, mais ayant pour autant des parcours et influences différentes. Depuis peu, la formation s'est agrandit pour la venue de Sébastien à la guitare.

Cette rencontre est l’occasion pour chacun d’explorer d’autres horizons, de mettre en avant et partager de nouvelles sensibilités, et permet d’aller chercher et de construire un style de jeu au fur et à mesure des morceaux, composés pour l’occasion.

Nos trois compères aiment créer et trouver couleurs et ambiances et laissent toujours une place à la variation spontanée. Ils construisent pour cela un répertoire autour de la musique à danser, ayant pour fil conducteur le respect des appuis, mais ne se refusent jamais le plaisir d’y incorporer des développements hors de la tradition pure…
