Harmonic Immersion House Concert - the first in our new home

We are Michelle Angel and Ron Kalinoski, and together we are The Art of Gong. 

Several years ago, when we married, we gave each other a gong as a wedding gift. (That initial  seed has flourished and we now have 12 large gongs.)  A year later we started performing and after several years of touring with our instruments on both coasts, we decided to separate and perform solo. We have recently reunited to form The Art of Gong, having discovered that the hiatus had allowed each of us the freedom to develop our musical styles and mature as artists.

Ron is a ceramic artist and gong musician. He also explores the fringes of experimental music, and designs and builds musical instruments, including ceramic drums and metal friction rod instruments. 

Michelle has been a proponent of meditation music since 1970, when she began playing the flute and also chanting. In the 80's she started playing the harmonium and leading kirtan. Her first experience of playing the gong was in 2010 and she has been sharing her passion for the gong since then. Along with the gongs, she plays crystal bowls, Himalayan bowls, the Halo HandPan drum, and Native American flutes. She is passionate about creating sacred space using these instruments and continues to evolve and refine her musical style.
