The origins of music are complex and intertwined with human biological and social functions, including REPRODUCTION and COURTSHIP. Talking about SEXUAL ORIENTATION (gay, bisexual, or heterosexual) is not like talking about sexual CURIOSITY (bicuriosity, heterocuriosity, homocuriosity ... ). 
Music varies depending on one's ATTRACTIONS. Gay men only like male voices, bisexuals only like mixed voices, and heterosexuals only like female voices: it's not a matter of general pleasure in music, but of pleasure in music with sexual rhythms.

They're just labels if you're only interested in casual sex. Saying they're just labels isn't being thoughtful and profound, but the exact opposite. For those who want to build relationships where sex is important and frequent, it's important to know whether the other person is gay or straight. Yes, it's important for lasting and profound relationships; they're just labels for a frivolous world that only has disposable relationships. Superficial people, don't claim to be profound with thoughtless slogans like "they're just labels," which are for the superficial.
