Choi, a Peruvian living in CDMX, is known for being a fearless and impeccable selector. She began as a techno Dj but quickly expanded her sound to include African and Latin rhythms like tuki, jungleton, tribal house, groove core, and psytrance.Being in the lineup of the EXT parties and having performed at some of the most significant clubs and parties in Mexico, like Yuyu, Radio Bar, Ediciones Tecpati, and the ravenous queer parties of Pervert and Por Detroit, she has swiftly created a career in the Mexican scene. Alexandra has had notable radio appearances on Rinse FM and Radio 28, as well as on the Argentinean and the Peruvian labels MATRACA, which serve as "netlabel" that link musicians from around the world and are devoted on the visualization and recognition of the cultural contribution of LGBTQI+ women and artists.

It wasn't long after he started DJing and producing that Stefan Cvitanic, aka DJ Valentimes, had found his niche. Whether it's in Providence or Tunisia, Budapest or Oslo, Cvitanic has formed connections with discerning fans all over the world with his uncompromising approach to techno, delivering emotional heft and texture and in every shade of greyscale. Alongside his DJ Valentimes moniker, the Bay Area-born, New York-based artist widened his scope with additional aliases (Kanal Nula, Kirbi Zauvijek, Rangefinder), launched three record labels (Puppy Tapes, Anti-State Electronics, Mineral Resource) and somehow found the time to run the now-defunct Dust Radio and Nausea rave series alongside a spirited cast of his friends.

Following a brief and well-deserved hiatus, DJ Valentimes makes a triumphant return to the decks with a punishing CENTER BOOTH set that reminds us exactly what we’ve been missing. A droning, atmospheric opening passage sets an ominous tone with dank echoes and buzzing sounds that bring to mind a swarm of flies hovering over a rotting corpse. A pounding kick breaks the mix open, with propulsive percussion loops and muted horns that conjure a fast-approaching steam engine train. As the intensity rises, you could imagine lying on the tracks beneath the carriage as the locomotive rushes overhead, finally reaching a point where the experience is more akin to standing in front of a jet engine.

The set contains unreleased tracks from DJ Valentimes himself and a number of his close friends, alongside timeless early 2000s schranz cuts that could have been released 25 years ago or yesterday. It’s proper rinsing techno of the highest order, an enveloping storm as intricate and varied as it is incessantly slamming (well, right up until the chef’s kiss chilly cooldown anyway). DJ Valentimes, you’ve been missed.

Next on our mix series is @ancient-methods, a cornerstone of the industrial techno movement, whose sound is a testament to the power of texture and unyielding percussive density.

This latest transmission, captured at the Khidi night at Human, is no exception. It's a relentless excavation of the genre's darkest corners—a journey defined by his signature pummeling kicks, clangorous metallic echoes, and the cold, physical energy that has come to define his sound.
