The Orioles won 4 out of 6 on their homestand, and 6 of 8 overall  after sweeping the White Sox, as they try to inch closer and closer back to decency. The Bat Around- June 1st, 2025

The Birds flew out West and continued their winning ways in Seattle, sweeping the Mariners. But then it was on the Sacramento, where the team looked more like the April & May version than the version that was 11-5 entering Sunday's game over their last 16. For the 3rd week in a row, the Orioles went 4-2 and now find themselves 10 games under .500 after being 18 games under back in the 4th week of May, and they sit just 6 games out of the final Wild Card spot as they look to become just the 5th team to start a season 30-40 and make the playoffs. The Orioles are returning home from a two city road trip licking their wounds after playing well enough to hypothetically win 5 of 7 games, and playing poor enough to actually lose 4 of 7 games. After losing of 2 of 3 to the Rangers, the Orioles bounced back to take 2 of 3 from the Rays, completing a .500 homestand before heading to Texas to take on the Rangers again in a 3-game series beginning tomorrow night. The bats have stepped it up this month, but Tomoyuki Sugano and Zach Eflin have taken a nosedive, the latter likely headed for the IL with a lower back strain. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! After a disappointing series in Texas where the Orioles won the first game for the 4th consecutive series, the team proceeded to lose the next two games to lose the third of those four series. But then came Atlanta, where the Orioles took advantage of a team that may just be in more dire straights than they are, sweeping all three games from the hapless Braves to pull within 9 games of that ever fleeting .500 record.
