first things first, it’s not the vegetable. After pondering over some of the most idiosyncratic names ever known to mankind, the band settled on one of them anyway. That said, The Beatroute is a result of some clever thinking and quirky wordplay. The plan was never to be too profound with the name, but these things happen. Formed in November 2010, The Beatroute is a five member band based in Mumbai with all its members spread across the gigantic city.

The Beatroute being an Alternative Groove Rock band stands for its own sound which comprises of groovy melody, psychedelic sounds, versatile phrasing, and meaningful arrangement. Each song has a story which is epitomized by Vignesh’s magnificent lyrics and everyone from the band’s interpretation of that story. The Beatroute has performed covers in the past ranging from Incubus, Cake, U2, Audioslave, Maroon 5 but currently it’s more focused towards finding a sound which blends with the idea of the band.
