Alien Soundscapes

This song from Neil will not be familiar to most. From an LP called "For in the Road" (2009).
The lyrics really resonated with me  based on how I have been feeling as a citizen of the US the last several months. The tone seems to fit with my my most recent original composition called "Bravery".

An interesting coincidence here... The bpm used is 167 (83.49bpm x 2 rounded off) and the original has 167 plays as of now.... Schweeeet
So in fact that rounding makes our duration a little less so we are a tad shy of 23 seconds...

For me its absolutley worth learning the relationship of time duration and bpm well. Music at the end of the day is maths so I do like being conscious of the time and symmetry technically as well as just feeling it... It's interesting and maybe gives you a different understanding and hopefully more original music from that...

This song began with sums... I wanted the phrase to be 23 seconds long. Do the maths and thats 83.49 bpm or 2875ms per bar. My DAW don't like bpm decimals so I used a string scratch looped on a delay pedal with 2875ms delay to find that 23 second phrase and then move on to make the idea... If all else... it's a different way to start a song

As a writing constraint and extra nugget I wrote Twenty Three Therapy down the side of he page first and used it to build the lines...
