Lots of people moving to the state of AZ
The desert seems like a nice a nice place to be
The only problem is there’s not enough H20
One day you’ll turn the tap and it’s not gonna flow
The climate keeps getting drier every single year
I guess we’ll have to take fewer showers and drink more beer

If you can’t stand the heat maybe you should get out of the kitchen
Maybe this isn’t the right place for you.
The sun up in the sky is 93 million miles away
But it feels a lot closer on a hot Arizona day

There’s not enough snowpack on the mountains up high
They say the Colorado river’s running dry
They’re ripping up lawns, replacing them with rocks
Instead of going barefoot, you walk around in crocs
The polar glaciers are melting in to the sea
I wish that they could scoop up an iceberg and drop it down on me

Sheldon and I have been friends for 48 years this fall.  We've created lots of music, both together and along separate avenues over the decades...and I think we still have a few songs left in us!  This is a redo of a song from several years back.  When I originally recorded it, Sheldon was not available to collab.  Really wanted to redo it with his playing, so almost the entire song got an overhaul.

This song began with Josh coming up with it on his electric piano and fretless bass, to which he added some banjo, then mandolin. Once he had a solid basis for the song, he shared it with the rest of Eclectic Collective for them to add their parts. 
  Ken was first up, adding his drums in an such a creative way that matched Josh's bassline perfectly. It was originally recorded to a looper disco beat, but that was blown out of the water by Ken's creative drumming. Tez jumped in next, adding his thrilling guitar to the second half of the song. Not to be outdone, Stephen batted clean up, adding his textural and melodic guitar to the first half. He also added some subtle, but brilliant acoustic guitar to the first half, too. 
  This is a great example of Eclectic Collective coming up with an original band sound out of one of Josh's seeds. We're always pushing boundaries and trying to find fun and exciting ways to build a song. Lots of teamwork in here, too, of course. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

A Song For You

Carl from the Beautiful dark wrote a song today titled "Baldy Patty" and  it inspired me to write my own personal a song about baldness.  I started to lose my hair in my early twenties, and for awhile it bothered me and then one day, I decided to shave my head and I have never looked back. And now so many years have passed that I have been bald longer than I had hair.

My name is unlikely to help me become affluent and successful but it lays bare that this world has many dark inhumane ideas and mindsets to transcend and get on top of to move our existence on a path to a greater good for all life.
