Carl, this one didn’t just speak, it sat me down gently, looked me in the eyes and handed me a life manual dressed as a song 🎨🫶 the love in this is loud, the lessons are carved into melody like woodcut scripture, and the vocal clarity makes every line land like something you’d whisper to your kids before the world wakes up 💭☀️ I didn’t want it to end, because this is the kind of art that keeps delivering long after we’re gone 💜 the fridge got quiet halfway through and hasn’t opened since, the kettle started softly boiling in rhythm with “peace from pride intercepted,” and the dishwasher saluted with a soap bubble in its eye 🍞🫧 this isn’t just music, it’s a message from a father, an artist, and a soul who knows 💫 also I’m now aggressively singing “sneeze on me but I won’t be affected” at the kettle like it’s the climax of a one-woman Broadway finale and honestly it’s never felt so true 😅🫖🎭 thank you for this masterpiece

About the Song

"Water to Wine" is a song about the appeal of perfection we often see online, contrasted with the seemingly unremarkable and ordinary lives that most of us lead. It’s a reflection on the emotional toll that comes from chasing validation through likes and follower counts— and the emptiness that can follow when the spotlight fades.

Our value, though, goes far deeper than what shows up on a screen and authenticity holds more power than appearances. Take a deep breath and if we look up from the scroll and take a brave look at the world — and each other — we might find something much more real!

Behind the Song (from Goff Johnson)

Ironically, while the message of the track talks about isolation and the cost of surface-level connection, the making of Water to Wine was the exact opposite of that! It came to life through collaboration with the incredibly talented Todd J McLean, who, in addition to his awesome vocals, and red-hot music connections, also created the cover art (Woman in Yellow Chair) for the track! The overall result is something far richer than either of us could have created alone.

Working together brought depth, direction, and new energy to the song — proof that the best things happen when we connect for real. No filters, just music, shared purpose, and mutual trust!

This is my first collaboration on SoundCloud. I could not have been more fortunate than to work with Goff Johnson, an immensely talented singer/songwriter/musician. When I first came across Goff, I listened to his entire Stories of Stardust album end-to-end and I was so impressed with this concept and significant body of work. Fuck money... Do what you love and change your world by creating whatever that love is. That's more valuable to you as a person no matter what your bank balance reads. Fact. Timed right you should also gain affluence from that love early in life too if you stick at it. Just believe it and do it and you will get what you endeavour for. You are a mirror. People won't understand your light and love and when that happens just tilt direction to find people that do and you can amplify that together. This is particularly important to understand before you enter deep romantic relationships. Ideally the person you end up with should reflect your good side and visa versa. You'll find more daily peace seeking that out and ultimately being comfortable in your own skin not in a relationship until you do. You may never find that life partner and that's ok too. It's your world not someone else's so make it a better world for yourself and the people you effect everyday. Remember this... Whatever negative you absorbed as kids from me and your amazing Mum is not you and it's not your fault. This is just a challenge we all face and again being aware of this young will help you deal with those demons sensibly. Focus on our positive sides which are both amazing and whilst becoming yourself and becoming better versions of us, just remember nobody is perfect and it's all too easy to seek out that negative energy you never transcended in your youth if you're not aware to release it and be at one with it. Once we all do that then Earth will be one big giant planetary festival. Bring it on
