Notes 🎶 
Musically this turned out very different. I'm away so tools are limited. In my view that should never limit you from still expressing an idea. Michael Jackson used to humm bass-lines I believe... That tells me a lot if it's true and it makes complete sense. It's the quickest, easiest and most convenient way to not forget an idea. From my experience doing that over the years... A dictaphone (your phone) is the most important tool if you never want to forget something. Your musical memory will take over when you humm something close to what you want then execution later can still be perfect with that instinctual reference. The other really handy thing about doing that is you can leave yourself voice notes. A faster arguably less distracting method then writing them down especially if you are trying to honour a pure train of thought on a subject. For me shower time is one of the most important times to have it to hand afterwards. I always think of stuff in the shower even when I'm not trying to. I heard an emotional intelligence expert talk about that on the radio and it seems to be the white noise and random noise of the water that allows our brain to rest from reasoned thought and during that time secondary processes take over that solidify memory. So I regularly have notes to make straight after the shower which is pretty cool. Just sharing this as BE and moi have been chatting in comments together about playing to your instinct. In my pea head opinion being ready to always honour that and you'll capture ideas all the time as opposed to just when you sit down to try. The sit downs more become a process to process your ideas as opposed to writing the whole thing in one moment :-)

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, there was a small group of music-loving aliens who decided to live among humans, blending in, absorbing their musical art, and trying to contribute with their own.😜
On a planet Earth plagued by wars, hatred, climate change, and junk food, with 99 percent of the wealth held by just 1 percent of humanity, these somewhat alienated aliens one day discovered that even the dark can be beautiful.
They discovered The Beautiful Dark (https://soundcloud.com/thebeautifuldark), simply Carl to his friends, living on a beautiful island not far from the chaos of the old continent, the noble Ireland.
So this little bunch of aliens with their questionably produced music decided that yes, absolutely, they had to at least try to pay tribute to that Earth artist who felt anything but Earthbound in his noble intentions.
They just had to do it. Especially after dear Carl helped ease the pain of our guitarist’s clumsy fall down the stairs with his poetry, music, and photography (she’s fine, don’t worry ). 😂

We cooked up a funky instrumental track featuring Valerio absolutely killing it on drums (not that bass and guitar are holding back). It’s called "Sticks of Funk" and we’re dropping it today to celebrate the birthday🎉 of the man who sets the beat, or keeps the groove alive, however you wanna put it.
It’s a bit different from what we usually do, and just a heads-up, the track kicks off with an old vocal sample from a funky song we never finished or released, and yeah... it might make you jump out of your seat the first time you hear it. Totally unintentional, promise.

Here we are with our last track of the month.
Lately, Carl @thebeautifuldark has been working on some important projects to raise awareness about the indiscriminate use of AI in the world of art. This track came from deep conversations between us, exploring themes of identity, authenticity, and the growing trend of music that’s “AI-made” but never truly felt or played.

Vacant Stares is a cryptic, cult-like vision of a digital future, where prompters replace creators, and artistic expression is reduced to hollow commands.
Blank stares. Selfish prayers. Fake songs for simulated feelings.
This track is a warning. A question. A reversed ritual.
It asks you: who are you, when you no longer use your own voice?

The song is divided into two parts:

Beating Edge's part:
It’s gothic, cinematic, full of ritualistic and unsettling imagery. The atmosphere evokes abandoned temples, secret cults, carved symbols… with that sense of existential disorientation like “they’re initiating me into something but I don’t know what.”
It feels like a lucid nightmare or a hallucination induced by an intelligence simulating spirituality.
Carl’s part:
More brutal, direct, anti-establishment. Almost a rap/spoken-word poem loaded with accusations towards those who use AI in a sterile, heartless way. “Selfish prayers / Fake / Unfair” hit like punches in the gut in just four words. It’s the awakening from hypnosis.

Let’s reflect! And use AI as a tool to amplify art, not to replace it!

Rapture is a new collaboration between the Beating Edge and Joe Stroffolino, following the awesome 'Asteroids (The Original Was Better) (https://soundcloud.com/beatingedge/asteroids-the-original-was). Joe wrote both the lyrics and the original music, while the Beating Edge rearranged and recorded it in a punchy rock style, adding driving guitars, strong rhythm, and dynamic choruses. Vocals feature Tom on lead, with Joe and Mary contributing both backing vocals and lead parts on certain verses and the bridge, creating a layered and energetic vocal texture.
