Note on the tempos. So I started track 1 with a tempo of 22 BPM. A nice slow tempo allowing for a variance of being able to imagine different metrics whilst listening to the instrumental piece.
To get a variance through the album over and above that then I halved the tempo and did tracks at 11, 5.5 and 2.75 BPM

This is also a nice way of getting different in time responses from using delays and reverbs within the DAW. I wanted to retain the 8 mins per track so I used 4/2 timing and 4/1 timing for the half and quarter speeds respectively. This made it easy to lock in the 8 minute lengths with different tempos and adjusted timings

That's another thing worth learning. If you want to do very slow tempo stuff and your DAW like logic doesn't allow decimal place BPM, you can change the timing of the bar to get you count at the decimal BPM thats less then 10. This allows for being exactly in time with a wider array of faster tempos and not just ones that are divisable by whole numbers

11 BPM 4/4
5.5 BPM 4/2
2.75 BPM 4/1

It's an extra little nugget for allowing some clever timings and getting slightly different results or allowing for the option of symmetry with a wider array of timings as mentioned above

Whatever about an afterlife... We make this place a heaven, a hell or somewhere in-between those imagined realities of bliss or suffering. I was thinking maybe the best heaven we can make is by leaving the planet and human knowledge better off then before we were born. Maybe if we actually strive to make Earth heaven, it's a tangible focus for us during our lives and something we can with honest pride be happy we leave our kids. We leave the universe we know they experience physically and psychologically a universe that's closer to the idea of a heaven so whether we go there or not won't matter, we did our best to make one for them. It might be a better focus for heavenly wishes and maybe would help us transcend the fallibility of being afraid to die.  That fallibility tends to move us towards being people that care less about Earth and conscious creatures because we think that utopia awaits us. We actually know this utopia right hear in the goldilocks zone of our solar system, yet in large numbers we forsake our experience and the experience of others because we believe we are heading somewhere rosy when the lights go out

This is a song I probably would have never written let alone released in the microcosm of my own ego before having kids. Now I have kids, all the goodies are fair game no matter style ✅♻️

Also, Multi genre is something I've gone head first into in the face of computer programs being able to short cut the creative process for people to get there. Whether you empower those projects of plagarism or not is your own perogitive but I like to show it's possible, with practice to deliver yourself any style at all from your own abilities. I don't mean to sound like I'm blowing my own trumpet, but in the face of these tools we have now I think it's important to highlight that you do not need them and I would argue you get much purer original results striving to get the result yourself for every single bit of a creative piece. That's art... Asking yourself, how can I express what I am feeling? How can I develop the skill to do that expression. Remember ai has all been programmed by works made by humans, we are humans so I'd suggest considering not being limited by it and seeing what your body says instead of what the program guesses you might want based on what is likely a model build on plagarism to start with. Plagarism aside, which is the deal breaker for me, even the humans used to program them, it was their feelings, not yours, so are you really expressing anything of substance at all? I guess thats a personal conclusion so I can't speak for prompters but it's certainly worth thinking about properly and announcing that by using it you are evolving music to me is fairly narrow-minded and kind of spits on the face of artists that work their lives to generate unique expressions through art by real feelings and sacrifice through skill development.

For this idea I sat having my morning coffee & my youngest daughter Alma had just been amazed by Elfie showing up from the north pole. So I in my head said, feck it I'm writing a Christmas song. I sat there imagining it first and I had Frank Sinatra buzzing around my head. It's actually the first time I hummed the song first, recorded the hum and then built the music around it as I wanted to honour what was in my head. I believe that was a valid part of Michael Jacksons process too, he would literally humm a part to be translated to an instrument. If you have a solid ear and good reference pitch I can vouch for that, using your voice to seed melodies is a great way of expanding the result and not being limited by the more difficult expression on the instrument itself right off the bat.

December 15th 1996, my close friend Tina was taken early in an accident. I managed to finally write her a song last year and since it's Tina's anniversary soon I went for a shot at the vocal again. I decided to make it a song appreciating existence as it's impossible to make sense of why I get to live on and poor Tina's life was cut short at 16 years of age. behind the seating area is lake Phewa Tal, one of the most amazing places I've ever been. On a calm day you can see the snow capped Himalayan peaks reflected in the water and I'd definitely recommend heading there if the opportunity arises. The Nepali people are some of the warmest welcoming spirits I've ever got the pleasure of experiencing.

This song attempts to pay homage to a side I've only learned of Albert Einstein recently enough and that is his interest in consciousness and us psychologically. Although it's obviously not what he's most famous for he seems to attribute some of his most important truths to your mindset and that the universe unfurls itself whatever way that mindset is and by the mood of what it absorbs and projects. I'm probably filling in some gaps there...

I feel given the prevalence of so many conspiracy theories most likely confirming the hostilty in peoples heads and in turn those people finding that via their self honed internet algorithms, maybe a good few of us could do with learning that possible truth about our heads. His hunch is kind of confirmed by modern neuroscience and psychology with the discovery of how we actually rewire our brains via neuroplasticity
and we can effectiviely train mindsets in and out of ourselves. Most of the bias ones just make it in their the same way even if their grounding can be questionable such as conspiratorial thinking

The song needs work, I plan on tightening up the vocals obviously and bass should really open up the song too
