Vine Song

This is the third chapter from my upcoming album, Hearts Get Started. 

This album is a collection of songs written over several years, some of them being my oldest. It feels a little like a puzzle, with each song being its own world and story. When you put them together, they are stepping stones along the way of my musical adventure. I like to think of it as a prequel to our first album Disco Lasers. It's all the music that got me to that point.

There’s a permanent click track in my mind,
The metronome like a clock.
Tick tock Tick tock.
Within the head space.
The grasses grow long in the overground garden.
A simple mow will fill a wonderful smell of freshly cut grass into the metasphere.
Another track, control New, controlling you!
Press record. The subtleties of presumption transpire into a grey triangle.
A click track, bait, got to catch them all.
A catcher in the rye.
Slowly we sigh, expanding air through our mouths.
Clickerty clickerty clickerty clack.
The stop bar stopped so did our track.
We derailed, we failed, we bailed.
CTRL N, CTRL N, CTRL N.
We renewed and sat back and observed for a while.

Max Bianco’s latest release ‘Sometimes’ superbly showcases his songwriting abilities in his own storytelling manner all set against a background of a haunting yet beautiful melody. The brilliance of the track is allowed to shine, through its sheer simplicity really allowing the vocals to take centre stage. Max’s voice is clear yet emotive and thought provoking and the strumming acoustic guitar is literally like the plucking of your heart strings.    


Max has said of the track:
“‘Sometimes’ is about life really and when the cards dealt don’t match up to anything, but how it's maybe worth taking that risk of going all in again and hoping for a better hand to be dealt next time.” 


‘Sometimes’ was written by Max Bianco and was recorded at The Albion Rooms in Margate with renowned, award winning, music engineer and technician Jason Stafford. Produced by Mark Pickering, head of ARU music department in Cambridge, the arrangements were worked on with musicians Fabian Bonner (double bass) and Sean O’Hanrahan (piano). Mark mixed ‘to the track’ and you can sense this with the space in the final master which allows the vulnerability of the lyrics to truly resonate with the listener.
