Just like that we are entering our THIRD year of the show, and with a new season commencing, we also have a change in voices hosting & curating Brisbanes weekly breakbeat airing. S3E01 sees Skitzoid introduce all of your new hosts & what sonics we might be able to expect from them throughout Season 3

After some housekeeping, Skitzoid is joined by Synonymix & Speedfreq for a freestyle mix, delving into all corners of DNB as his way of wrapping up his time as a host on the show.

DADDY LONGLEGS ( @lokiakadaddylonglegs ) shares his views on tasty bass music, yowies & dragons, and life as a sober DJ in the doof scene - now happily swapping beers for Shines & Yerba Mate.. 

and @ZeroTheoryMusic (Barefoot) tells us about his new DNB alias/EP by Atoms From Space, his extensive music history before we unsurprisingly tangent way off topic again into ADHD..

ATOMS FROM SPACE is the brand new Drum and Bass project from Sunshine Coast musician Rohan Nitschke (Zero Theory, Bearfoot). 

A classically trained violinist from age 5, Rohan spent his formative years performing with the Sunshine Coast youth orchestra, the Queensland youth orchestra, and the Queensland Symphony orchestra. As a teenager, he discovered guitar, and drums, and his focus shifted to writing and performing with bands. For the next 20 years, Rohan earned a reputation as one of the hardest working musicians in South east Queensland, touring and recording with artist such as The Floating Bridges, Bearfoot, Ayla, Battleships, Drawcard, and many more. 

A keen interest in electronic music led to Rohan building a studio, and developing his project “Zero Theory”, writing and recording his first solo album in 2020 aptly titled “Arrival”. This led to him signing with global electronic labels Altar records, and Merkaba Music, and performing at festivals such as Earth Frequency, Elements, Twisted Frequency, and many more.

In 2023, Rohan decided to begin a new project focusing on his love of Drum and Bass, and Atoms from Space was born. The debut EP “Falling in a dream” is an exploration of some of the many sub-genres of Drum and Bass, and has been well received by both the industry and the general public. Atoms from Space has developed into a live show that includes good friend Rob Burr on live drums and percussion, and plans are in place for another EP and festival slots in 2024.

Spanning over 17 years active on Australian shores to Bristol and beyond - Daddy Longlegs sets are always a carefully woven web of forward thinking electronica.

S3E7: De La Haye ft. ZERO THEORY + DADDY LONGLEGS - Elements Festival Special

This week we have some outer space action with a 2 hour mix from Martian aka Martin.

Martian is originally from Wellington, New Zealand but now resides in Brisbane. He is a Drum N Bass and 140 DJ who has earned his chops supporting the likes Alix Perez, Skeptical, Halogenix , The Upbeats , Truth and many more.
He takes the reigns for the full two hours with a quality mix, Welcome to Brisbane Martian hopefully we will here some more of him in upcoming shows.
