The brainchild of 26-year-old Brighton born singer/songwriter Mike Rosenberg, Passenger is redefining the troubadour for the 21st century. Formerly a five-piece band, Passenger has now pared back to basics, quite literally bringing music to the streets on a series of lengthy busking journeys across Australia, America and the United Kingdom. A classic journeyman musician, cut from the same mould as Van Morrison, Neil Young and John Prine, Passenger has the unique ability to move from the humorous to heartbreaking with every song.

After a year spent crisscrossing the UK and US with his debut album Wicked Man's Rest, Passenger's markedly stripped down and soulful second album Wide Eyes Blind Love was brought to the public as it was created: on the road. You know your mind is messed up when you get depressed cause there’s no more black sludge sitting in your best cup. I’m best off leaving my wallet at home; if I bring a little cash I spend all my dollars at dome. I like Italy inspired brews, cups of rome. A cup of Joe please with low please; I’ve gotta go. When I hear the whistle and whine of kettle sounds I put down what I’m doing man I never get around. Sence aroused with my sence in the clouds, my mind lost grind costs and constant coffee compounds. A quick pick up a quicker come down, my brain rattles loose as soon as the brew decides to slow down. This is a hoedown, a showdown’s about to start. You get a laugh when the grown man falls apart. A heavy heart helled together with toboccao tar, if I could take my wish back on the shooting star the chances are, I could wish for inner peace. It’s the thing that I need most, especially when I’m buzzing off that Philippine. Bean blend, I’ve been blind and I’ve seen men split at the seams cause no one sees them. It seems when people need friends the most, they pack their bags quick and leave them standing by the bus post. With utmost respect I expect a little more from you, ground beans and water put together in order to.
