Betonkust immediately blended in with the 9300 family and it felt like we’ve been knowing each other for years and years. After his characteristic remix on Innershades' latest EP (AAL006), it was only a matter of time before he would deliver his own release on our label. With varied percussions, hard kicks and dark synths, the 0% swing EP brings you back to a time when Belgian highways were still lavishly flanked by discotheques and afterhours clubs. An era that counts as one of the most beautiful pages in Belgian dance history and of which Betonkust probably has more knowledge than most of our fellow-countrymen. All four tracks on this proper release produce a thrilling energy that will bring those sleepy ravers, from the 90's, back to life. As always, 300 copies!

Killekill House Trax is going strong - this time with a 4-tracker by the incredible Andreas Gehm. He sent us the music shortly before his death and said we could pick any of his artist names and his only condition was that the music was released on vinyl. Only after his death we realized that he had obviously already taken a decision then...
So we are releasing this record now as an homage to one of the most creative and funniest persons in the electronic universe of the last decade. The EP includes all his typical styles and ranges from hard jacking Acid House over weirdo Electro House to old school Chicago- leaning Piano House. A timeless record for all situations.
May you rest in peace, Andreas, and thanks for still rocking our floors, even when you are long gone!

VARIABLE is the first compilation on Pi Electronics, which also kicks off the new catalogue PEVA. This Various artist release includes the works of several artists involved in the label till now, along with some very familiar faces to π that have been supporting the parties in the past years. The aim was to bring the main label roster - artists with original music on PI, such as JK Flesh, Ontal and Damcase - under the same roof as artists that have been with the Pi Electronics project since its early days: the label’s party residents; 3.14, Nemmett and DΛS along with other fellow Athenians; Unhuman, BMSK and the project “I am Legion, for we are many.” The outcome will be available in CD, Vinyl and Digital format, while the vinyl sampler will feature JK Flesh, Ontal, Nemmett and BMSK. 

Regardless of the different variables, equation drops back to the same constant result. Divide and Rule. Sticks over Carrots. Repent or Collapse.

The seventh release of the MSQ label is related to the label owner Moralez together with the legendary techno/ hardcore/ EBM producer The Horrorist. Their casual acquaintance at one of the night underground parties in Neukölln (Berlin) led to that future collaboration. EP contains three versions of the track “Sleep when you die”: the original version with the lyrics and vocals by Oliver Chestler aka The Horrorist; extended (DJ friendly) version without any vocals; and the “chaos effect” variation in the best traditions of the early hardcore techno.

The next release on ara, kicking off the new “UTIL” series, will question the process involved in releasing a functional dance music record nowadays, and will be available in digital format, as well as a limited edition customised tool with a download code.

Alex Moya, a.k.a Refracted, has a special place in the ever-changing club music ecosystem : his tracks are staples of countless techno DJ’s and his distinctive sound has spread its influence far beyond the borders of the genre. 

Refracted uses the limitations of utilitarian techno as the creative force behind his productions : the application of disciplined restraint channeled through his unmistakable artistry results in pure abstract gems - as necessary as they are deeply moving.

For this 65th Premiere of 2020, we have a track by the Argentinian DJ & Producer DJ Frankie from the EP "1714" [A7A002] which is the 2nd release of this new label based in New York launched by Lawrence Lee : A7A.

This EP contains 3 nasty electro trax from DJ Frankie with a banging remix from Lack Record's Gian. 1714 is an ode to Frankie's old neighborhood, Castelar in Buenos Aires.

The track we chose to premiere is the "Gian Remix" of ‘K7’. It will be available from April 17, 2020 in Limited Edition 12" Vinyl and in Digital from May 8, 2020 here : https://systema7a.bandcamp.com/album/dj-frankie-1714-ep

Lawrence Lee’s A7A imprint returns mid April with a futuristic Electro 12’’ by DJ Frankie, entitled ‘1714’ and backed with a Gian remix. 

Barcelona-based Franco Valentino Gonzalez aka DJ Frankie hails from the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires and has been steadily making his mark on the electronic music scene via his gritty electro leaning style over the past few years. Here we see him deliver his latest EP via Berlin-based artist Lawrence Lee’s A7A imprint, which was launched back in 2019 via a DJ Trip Lord EP. 

Leading on the package is ‘K7’, a high-octane cut fuelled by distorted, broken rhythms, menacing low-pitched vocals and eerie resonant synth sequences and ethereal strings before ‘Passage Inclus’ lays focus on modulating, choppy synths, a heady, rave-tinged elongated bass line and a dynamic drum work out.

The third original from DJ Frankie opens the flip-side, entitled ‘Ashes & Cemeteries’ and fusing a wandering acid bass line with tension building strings and off-kilter percussion. LACKRec regular Gian then rounds out the package with his take on ‘K7’, offering a more refined take on things bringing the rhythmic aspects to the forefront as swirling synths and remnants of the original ebb and flow throughout.
