The latest edition of our Breaking New Soil series proves that time flies when you´re having fun: This is number 10! Once again presented by label head Gregor Tresher, and this time with two exciting contributions by the man himself, we are proud to announce a very versatile lineup: We have Hybrasil, who Gregor met at a gig in Dublin, presenting a beast of a peaktime track with „Flexo“. Returning to the label is Ferdinando Apicella from Naples, better known as Kernel Key, who delivers another non-conforming techno jam that will go big with all the real Techno heads. Next up we have label favorite Fac3off - returning with not one but two amazing tracks presenting his signature sound - we´re sure we´ll be hearing a lot more from this talent in the future! The Yellowheads, hailing from Spain, had a storming EP release on BNS last year and return in very strong shape with „Caelum“. Last but not least there is Antipolar from Cologne, with whom Gregor recently shared the decks at Cologne underground club „Gewoelbe“ - he´s new to the label and is debuting with a very unique sounding production called „Mandal“. We hope you enjoy playing and listening to Breaking New Soil Volume 10 as much as we enjoyed compiling it.

Sublunar is glad to introduce their new release. Following the trilogy signed by one of the two founders of the label, Sciahri, it is now time for a new artist's debut.
Ladan, young Iranian producer at her first release, presents 'Section', a record made of 5 carefully selected tracks that range from bass-driving techno to sharp experimental excursions.
The EP's opening piece is 'Spectres', characterised by an increasingly deep, disquieting atmosphere. The body of the piece is stroked occasionally by metallic elements which make the whole sonic spectrum resonate.
On the same side we find 'Zone.2', an elegant, propelling techno piece painted with a similar colour palette of the previous piece.
The B side starts with 'Rebound', where hypnotic, overlapping melodies and broken rhythms entwine in an enveloping, uplifting musical development.
We also get a glimpse of Ladan's fierceness with 'Fault Line', an outburst of stomping, plastic rhythms sculpted synthetically, followed by 'Knives', a razor-sharp groove that creeps under the listener's skin.

They held one another's hands tightly. The two were the last ones left in the damp, dark, dirty basement. Running from the cops, together in the dark, they were the last to be caught and captured for a crime in which they had not been involved. Outside the whirring sirens could be heard from miles away, the shudder of a helicopter cut coarsely through the black night sky and from time to time a beam of light would illuminate where they lay through the window.

Curses is set to release a new EP on London based record label and party series SC&P. The Berlin based producer has taken a moody turn on the new release which he describes as follows: 

"Since moving to Berlin, I found myself embracing my post-punk, new wave and rock & roll roots more than ever and incorporating it into my production and sets. Together In the Dark is about the disappearance of fear in unfamiliar and uncomfortable realities and embracing new light to move forward."

Diego Ocejo, aka The Happy Man, is closing the journey. True explorer himself, highly influenced by hip hop, he started producing five years ago, alongside his career as an illustrator and engraver. A mad records and drum machines-collector in his spare time, this young DJ / producer is pushed by the famous drive called “more”, more new things, more fresh things, more challenging things. His musical sets are but the result of it all, linking house and disco together with some frequent detours via jazz and funk, and endless groovy road. 
Grab our hands, step in with us: it’s time for “Pizza Hug”. It will be the last little dance before our trip ends. It will be a special one. It will be a warm one. It will be the kind of dance that makes you never want to stop.

"The title is a reference to the number of beats per minute in classic techno music. Jacek Sienkiewicz, a pioneer of techno in Poland, whose works are presented in the exhibition, played in this tempo in the 90s. The term “rave” is used to refer to underground dance events with electronic music—mainly techno which took hold in Poland along with the transformation in the political and economic system in the early 1990s. On one hand they were an expression of the authentic if often naive optimism of the period of transformation. On the other hand they manifested the anxieties of those times of civilizational and technological acceleration."
