Cosmic dust floats through endless space, shrouding the secrets of the universe in silence. Sometimes a strangely textured planetary surface emerges or a glimpse of a colourful, luminous nebula shining from afar strikes the earthbound eye and lets us know of the omnipresent existence of so many worlds we do not yet know. The Alchemical Theory is there to open the doors of perception and reflect the chemistry of the unknown.

Formed in 2018, as a project of three like minded italian producers it has been influenced by raw modular sounds paired with a love for deeper atmospheres. This distinct aesthetics quickly earned them a wide-ranging reputation, allowing them to release their own creations on labels such as Affin, Circular Limited, Norite, Illegal Alien, Oslated, Fur:ther Sessions and many more.

The Alchemical Theory sends you on a 62-minute mental journey that has it all: Wafting ambient pads, groovy deep techno gems and heavy hypnotic hitters. All underpinned with their own signature, which is truly a special alchemical brew!

In this 47th release, we present Licit (@iamlicit), a producer and performer from the UK influenced by the beats of Detroit originators like Jeff Mills and the grooves of Luke Slater’s Planetary Assault Systems.

Justin is an expert in fast paced rhythms and bleepy noises and he delivers exactly that in Neural Megastructure and on the second cut, Neural Superstructure.

Subversive Optimism changes the discourse a little bit, slowing down the BPM rate and using more shuffled percussive elements. Resonant synth noises fly over the compact groove creating a truly hypnotic feeling.

Endless Descent is another deep techno exercise, with metallic FM synth details appearing cyclically through the arrangement, combining with linear bell lines and a solid 909 tom bassline.

Timeless pieces for dance floor use with the precise amount of science in.

Cinematic synths fused with deep bass and the dark yet sensual vibe that this DJ is known and loved for. KrakeCast 047: Alienata (Live at Krake Festival 2023)

... so after the weekend playing my gigs, flying here flying there I went back home and I was so in the mood to play music (again!) 
I was in a good vibe and wanted to record a mix for myself, not too fast (122-127BPM) with tracks I do love and stuff (and sometimes cannot play at peak time)!

After The Night

For this edition we’re joined by Berlin based, Spanish DJ + Producer, Alienata, a veteran selector with nearly 20 years under her belt. Elena established herself in her native Spain and moved to Berlin in 2011, she has played sets at pretty much every credible and respected club or party on the circuit (including fabric, Berghain and Dave Clarke's ADE bashes at Milkweg).
She's also a regular at Machine parties, doing back to back sets with Tasha and Bloody Mary plus many solo sets, including a killer at last month's E1 party, alongside Anthony Rother and the Zenker Brothers
Alienata runs the Electro and Machine Funk focused 'Discos Atonicos’, releasing music by the likes of Dez Williams and Cosmic Force and as a producer has released on Cultivated Electronics and Killekill plus contributed to the Tribology compilation a few years back on Machine. As a DJ, Alienata is a tight, energetic mixer and regularly fires through different genres and styles to get the party jumping,

HARDGROOVE MIXTAPE 007 - ALIENATA

Earth-shattering techno and intricate textures make up the delicate yet impactful sound of Alienata. The Spanish-born, Berlin-based artist is a self-described “sound obsessive” whose influences span anything from electro, ACID, dub, IDM, dark disco, techno, industrial atmospheres, and strains of sounds from both Detroit and Chicago. As founder of Discos Atónicos, she’s been able to platform and materialise her own influences, sharing music and making a mark.

With an approach to music that often leans towards alternative shades of techno, adding a blend of acid, electro, and old-school vibes, to traditional hard-hitting aspects, Alienata straddles high-calibre artistry, reminding us that techno can be complex, as well as wonderful loud and unignorable - and it's the nuance, and attention to detail, that often makes the most impact.

Ahead of Alienata’s return to the club this weekend (2nd-3rd December), she swoops in for the next edition of our mix series. Episode 027 is a breath of fresh air. That being said, it's a journey that is already taking us mentally into the dark, comforting, audio sanctuary that is our own Room 2 – where you’ll find Alienata smashing out her signature style for a special B2B set with Neighbourhood founder and club regular Tasha during the Saturday night section of our next Continuum.

Sounds From NoWhere welcomes aboard the Spanish dj & producer Alienata (Discos Atónicos / KILLEKILL).

Spanish-born, Berlin-based Alienata is a self-described sound obsessive whose sets span obscure electro, ACID, dub, IDM, dark disco, jakbeat, hypnotic techno, industrial atmospheres, break beats, cosmic jazz , UK electro, Detroit, Chicago influences and crazy sounds in general.
A former philosophy student with a particular interest in mysticism, Alienata began DJing in 2004.
In conjunction with Valencia's Overflow Collective, she not only served as a resident DJ but also participated in theatre and music technology workshops and oversaw its label operations.
Her earliest contact with Germany's music scene came through Leipzig's Homoelektrik collective, and upon moving to Berlin in 2011, she quickly found an adoptive family in the Killekill label and associated Krake Festival.
This relationship helped make her a respected mainstay in clubs in Berlin, around Germany and Europe, but her international profile has been steadily increasing each year: NYC, Chicago, Sydney, Melbourne, Bogotá, Moscow.
In recent times we have been able to experience its genuine style in booths like Fabric, Panorama Bar or ADE.
When behind the decks, Alienata is closely attuned to both internal and external influences, and is unconcerned with providing listeners with an outstanding and energetic experience.
It is not strange that legends like Dave Clarke (who recently played a B2B in ADE) DJ Stingray, Ben Sims or Ron Morelli have expressed all their support and respect for her.
With all that knowledge behind and a true love for music she decided to start her own imprint “Discos Atónicos” in 2017 where she can materialize all its varied influences, counting on legendary artists like Beta Evers, Dez Williams, Artificiero, BS-1 or Cosmic Force.
While primarily focusing on DJing, Alienata has released a few different records & remixes in recent years with collaborations with Snuffo of the jacking Snuff Crew & Sync24 -CEO of the legendary UK electro imprint Cultivated Electronics- Her most recent contribution has been to the great Ben Sims ‘Tribology’ Compilation, together with artists of the size of Robert Hood, James Ruskin or Mark Broom.
Since 2017 she hosts a monthly show called ‘Nova Express’ on the French LYL radio.

Discos Atónicos Podcast #1: Artificiero

DISCOS ATÓNICOS proudly presents the label’s second release: Age of Aggression by BS-1. This new record was produced by Dutch veteran Roland van Oorschot aka BS–1. Growing up, he listened to bands like Slayer, Fear Factory and Anthrax, which formed his musical education and continues to impact his productions. Producing and experimenting since the mid 1990s, van Oorschot has been a long time fixture in the electronic music world. He has created many projects over the years including Funxiun, Utroid and the previously mentioned BS-1. You can find his unique tracks on various labels including Marguerita Recordings and Gooiland Elektro.
For Discos Atónicos he made the Age Of Aggression EP, featuring 5 massive electro cuts that are a straight shot to the dance floor.

Artificiero Live + Dj Set (Discos Atónicos, Verlag System, ES)

ARTIFICIERO is the solo project of Alfonso Alfonso, a Spanish musician with a background in the psychedelic underground scene (with his band Schwarz). In it, he develops a sort of “electronic esoterica”, neither determined by nor dismissive of the dancefloor. Repetitive beats and ambient conforms his “dark avant techno”, always with a heavy psychedelic character.
Given the unclassifiable project, he has played live shows both in clubs, festivals, raves, auditoriums and art galleries. His last live set before going to Berlin was at the Keroxen Festival in the Canary Islands, Spain.
To date he has released two references: an untitled cassette for the Spanish label Verlag System in 2016 and a vinyl album, “Masa Negra”, for the Berlin-based label Discos Atónicos this year.
