M@GS has been obsessed with music pretty much all her life.

Left buckets of sweat on countless dancefloors. Lost herself under the strobe lights. Admired the skills and talent of DJs and producers.

It took Covid-19 and lockdown, with the sudden influx of spare time, for her to pick up a controller and start DJing.

And, so far, she's loving it.

M@GS defines her style as industrial/hard/acid techno with a pinch of heartbreak. She has yet to play in an actual club, but her guest sets were featured on Rave Alert, Resilience and Fnoob Radio, and she's also done live streams for StrangeDNA, Slimelight, Interference Radio, BrokeFM and Inqlusiv Festival.

for this month‘s wav:es series we present balrog. Balrog is a producer and DJ from the UK.

Hailing from the Yorkshire Dales just outside of Leeds, Balrog has supplanted himself in the darker and grittier side of industrial techno with a focus on heavy unrelenting drums, driving bass and obscure distorted vocal. His tracks look back to the classic hard and grooving techno of the early 2000's, but with a fresh injection of modern industrial power.

Balrog also runs his own record label, Khazad Records, which releases music from the very best industrial and hard techno talent around.
