The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Second Spectre. "Smuggler" comes off the forthcoming compilation Hostile Responses & Provocations Vol. 2. Following up on the first installment, England's Depth.Request returns for another massive comp featuring some of the best producers operating today across the industrial, post-techno spectrums. Ominous, suspenseful, and resonant of sound one would expect to find on a score to a handsomely budgeted techno-thriller, majority of Second Spectre's Smuggler is set in halftime tempo, corrosive bassline and eroded toms being its main stand-outs, with choral drones, sandy hats and tumbling low-range drums adding to the portrayal of a distinctly dystopian plot with doubtful prospects of a happy ending over the sunless horizon.

When Syncom Data teamed up with Finnish vocalist Saara Soini for “Rumpukone" in 2015, the scene was blessed with a merciless genre-bending hybrid that would forever infect Scalameriya's brain and refuse to leave his sets. Once the decision to start the "Redux-Series" on Void+1 had been made, so was simultaneously the choice of what project to launch it with. As chance would have it, Perc was interested to participate in the project and deliver a signature freight-train, rolling-techno remix. Scalameriya was unusually indecisive about the direction of his version and felt that he needed to make 2, each with a different energy level and groove.

This is the eighth Pi Electronics vinyl output, coming from the French producer under the project name Elements of Joy. Also known from his techno alias; UVB, this is his industrial/noise influenced project, which only had some limited releases up to date. PI08 is a 5-tracker offering a diverse selection of audio recordings, blending distorted synth pads, hard hitting percussion and processed vocals. Keeping the beats rather slow, PI08 carries a taste of ‘80s, Wave music.
