Ahead of the work we are doing with Detroit veteran Craig Gonzalez this year, here is a mix he’s done exploring new rhythms and soundscapes. We thought it would be prudent to share a mix of one of his many fresh perspectives, where he explores something we at IT find very compelling — new juxtapositions of polyrhythms and drum and bass within a deeply hypnotic techno context. 

"I’ve really been enjoying exploring the sonic space between techno and drum and bass. What excites me about this fusion is how it challenges both myself and fans of these genres, as it often defies the expectations of each. The introduction of polyrhythms takes it even further, pushing the boundaries and making the music feel truly genre-agnostic. In this space, the emphasis shifts away from traditional structures, focusing more on rhythm and context than on genre conventions.

This mix is a studio recording rather than a live set from an IT event because I feel that this style of music requires a more intentional approach to the context of an event. It hasn’t quite aligned with the atmosphere of my time slots—at least, not for now." — Craig Gonzalez @craig-gonzalez

Electronic Convergence Mix - June 2025

When we first covered Les Chaos Ambiants, it was clear they weren’t aiming for the usual festival formula. Instead of big stages and brand sponsorships, they’re focused on how electronic music and art can interact with local identity and environmental urgency. For 2025, the festival returns to Sommant, right in the Morvan Regional Natural Park, continuing to build on this concept. There’s still just one stage, no clashes, no sprinting between acts, but now there’s added weight on multidisciplinary art, from Adrien Lamm’s sculptural installations by the lake to workshops exploring endangered species through sound and visual design.

The lineup remains eclectic but united by atmosphere, curated once again by Alfonso Pomeda, who’s also the artistic mind behind Barcelona’s Mostra Festival. The full lineup for 2025 includes ABSIS, Alcachofa, Avsluta, Faery, Fran Campos, Lynne , Merovee, Metshka Pampo, Myles Dillon, Nems-B, Orsu, Owl, Toé, and Sybil. Les Chaos Ambiants seems designed for people who treat listening as an experience in itself, a festival where silence and subtlety can carry as much weight as rhythm or volume. Which brings us naturally to one of this year’s standout additions.

Let’s be honest: some artists play music; others change the room around you. Owl belongs firmly in the second camp. Just a few weeks ago, he opened the infamous “La Cabaña”, the ambient and experimental temple at Perpendicular Festival, with a set steeped entirely in lush, enveloping ambient. It was a lesson in subtle power, transforming a cavernous space into something intimate and weightless. It wasn’t flashy, but it left everyone exhaling like they’d just remembered how to breathe. Owl’s ability to craft this atmosphere without ever sounding forced makes him a perfect fit for Les Chaos Ambiants. Here’s an artist who understands that music in a pine forest doesn’t need to shout. So happy to share the recording from my last set at Open Ground from December 2024. 

It was an emotional journey ~ I wanted to tell a story of diving into underwater dream lands, where spirit guides and glitchy creatures meet and send us messages from the other side... where sound takes over the brain and opens something in the heart and body.
I waved through many genres ~ ambient, jungle, electro, dubstep, drill, jazz, techno and the wonky in-between. It felt like I had the chance to express a fuller spectrum of who I am as a music lover. 🙏

That night, I had the honour of opening for the legend Surgeon ~ someone who’s deeply inspired my path since the very beginning. Sharing that moment with him and connecting was just wow. 🥹

Open Ground truly is one of the most special places on earth ~ the care, the sound, the freedom, the community, the crew… just perfection. 

So grateful to be invited back this saturday ! (26.07.2025)

Next up we have Columbian based DJ, Lopar. Originally from the central mountains of Colombia, Lopar remains in an inexhaustible search and exploration, with the ability to navigate effortlessly through different styles, from ambient, minimal, house, deep, dub to down tempo, dnb, breaks, IDM and more. He is currently NATURAL’s resident DJ, with a trajectory that is strengthened with more than 8 years of experience in which he has had the privilege of sharing booth with artists such as Neel, Polygonia, Blazej Malinowski, Paula Koski, Anthony Linell among others. Lopar carefully elaborates his sets, achieving each time to produce a different and unique soundscape and experience with a great musical instinct; transporting the listener to different spaces and times and transmitting emotions through his music.

1. How and why did you get into producing / dj’ing?
- It all started in 2014, when I was still a raver. I began to feel the need to convey to people the feelings and emotions that great DJs made me feel when I listened to them. I wanted to show the world my vision of electronic music.

2. Who, What/where was your most coziest gig you’ve been to or experienced and why?
- Without a doubt listening to Luigi Tozzi in 2019 at the Freedom Festival (Medellín) was truly an out-of-body experience. From that moment everything changed!

3. Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert in the scene?
-I think both hahahaha sometimes I like to be in the quiet of my house, discovering new music and other times I prefer to be surrounded by friends sharing knowledge.

4. If you had to choose 1 track to vibe out too forever, what would it be?
- Caramel Chameleon - Dronacid [phaserinterlude mix] This track for me is a real utopia. It always brings a tear to my eye.

5. What is your routine when preparing for a gig / production/writing session? Do you have any special remedies/ mental/physical prep/ places to go to?
- 5. The days before the concert I’m always looking for new music, I like to be able to bring that touch of authenticity to my sets. The rest is pure improvisation and reading the dance floor.

2000 and One's Best Of Series Vol. 19 (Deep) Techno Pt. II

Had such a blast playing an extended DJ set in San Francisco last weekend, great to catch up with old friends and meet a few new faces . I managed to record half of the set. This section was recorded roughly 4-5.45 am. I didn’t get any footage during my set however managed to get this shot walking back from the club at around 6.30am. I’ve always enjoyed the sense of calm the early hours bring to a big city.

The Bunker New York is excited to be releasing @ldyosc's powerful debut EP “Magic² of 8” which takes inspiration from Liaisons Dangereuses as much as it does from Sähkö Recordings and Mayan Cosmology.

Alyssa Barrera Auvinen, who would become LDY OSC, grew up in Laredo, Texas on the conflicted border between the United States and Mexico. “I learned at a young age that you don’t have to follow the system” she tells us. Her musical trajectory began in her teen years with an older brother who played in an Industrial band and feeling a connection to the rage of heavier sounds. By late adolescence she was immersed in electronic music and would travel to Monterrey, Mexico to see DJs play. She began to DJ with encouragement from her father, a rooster breeder and cockfighter who drove her to play gigs in Mexico, landing her at clubs such as Aura, Topaz and Bar Americas. Teaching herself electronic music production techniques, Alyssa eventually moved to New York City to attend school, earning a BFA in Liberal Arts and Science with a Major in Music and Sound Engineering. While in school her classmates called her Lady Oscillator because she was always geeking out, building kit synthesizers and DIY modulars and thus LDY OSC was born.

Alyssa’s artistic trajectory really began to coalesce when she connected with future bandmates Todd Sines and Charles Noel in 2015. Their project evolved to become a band called Artefactos de Dolor (which has a double LP coming out in November 2018 on Helic.al records). While she has long been a collaborator on synth pop and punk projects, LDY OSC tells us that working on her own to record, the “Magic² of 8” EP, was a very different process: “I record all the tracks first, and then once I am ready to record the vocals I listen to the overtones and harmonics that the synth lines have created. I then can catch with what is already there, the tone and rhythm for the vocal. I also do other strange things like playback the vocal, open the window, and let the vocal combine with natural air. “ The result is a record that breathes and hits hard on a dancefloor, retaining the humanity of LDY OSC’s vocal explorations alongside the machine soul of her synthesizer manipulations.
