This is dreamy psych/folk song written on the first day that the Cherry Blossoms bloomed. It was the first week of August and I'd really had enough of Winter. 
Whenever the Cherry Blossoms bloom I am reminded that new life has burst through yet again and with it comes new possibilities. 
After a period of long and cold darkness, it's sometimes hard to trust in the suns return even if the Cherry Blossoms are right there in front of your face happily flowering. 
So ya gotta breathe deep. 
Ya gotta let their intoxicating scent sink into your body until that sweetness warms you.
You gotta let it fill you up all the way. 
You gotta let it revitalise you until you dance between the trees pulsing with life again you beautiful animal.

Julien Poulson formed the first lineup of the Green Mist in his native Tasmania, a small island off Australia's southern coast. Hence the album title. But if Next Stop Antarctica is any indication, Tasmania is strangely akin to the desert southwest of the United States: country blues, Mexican folk music, and atmospheric Hollywood soundtracks co-mingle freely across these ten tracks of largely acoustic indie rock. Even the shakuhachi (a Japanese bamboo flute) that features prominently on opening instrumental "Black Louie's Ambergris" sounds more Navajo than Asian in its context. But Green Mist is no mere Calexico rip-off; the southwestern elements of Poulson's cinematic music generally stay in the background, adding detail to the listener's twilit mental pictures without forcing images of banditos and flamenco dancers into the proceedings. About evenly split between spacious instrumentals and vocal tracks mostly starring the Neko Case-like Tracy Redhead on lead (although Poulson's mellow growl, like a more relaxed Nick Cave, appears as well), Next Stop Antarctica mostly maintains a relaxed, mid-tempo lope, as on the outstanding mandolin-driven pop song "Roads and Cars," but noisy rockers like "The City Is Sinking" and the epic closer "Something to Believe In" keep things from getting too somnambulant.

Tripple Effect officially received the award in November 2020 when they performed with roots band Traditional Graffiti at the Newcastle/Hunter Valley Folk Club. Usually the award is presented at the National Folk Festival in Canberra, but it was cancelled due to COVID-19.

The lyrics to the award-winning track, Straight From the Heart (the Makarrata Song), were written by John Sutton, the husband of Tripple Effect's Carrie Jacobi. The three-piece also includes Carrie's sister Lynden Jacobi and her husband Len McCarthy.

No members of Tripple Effect are Aboriginal and they want other non-Indigenous people to support and be educated on the Uluru Statement of 2017, which aims to create constitutional change to give First Peoples a voice in parliament.

"This song is not just about an Indigenous issue, it's a call to action for non-Indigenous people to become part of this," Carrie Jacobi said.

"It's really important that all Australians come on board and support this Statement."

Straight From the Heart (the Makarrata Song) was first performed live in 2018 in Sydney to mark the first anniversary of the Uluru Statement.
