This soundtrack was composed specifically for Art in Odd Places, which contains various birdcalls of known migratory birds to inhabit Florida’s wilderness seasonally, symbolizing Orlando’s history as a transient, migratory, and touristic city.  Orlando, Florida is currently the largest tourist destination in the world, but it’s the surrounding theme parks that draw millions yearly.  This artwork denotes the similarities of human and avian migration to the region; using a variety of bird tones will make visitors aware of things not always visible by drawing attention to the wildlife often overlooked. Recordings are by permission from the Macaulay Library, Cornell University.

"The City Appulse" is a sound installation created by Emilie Finney & Rashaad Rosalle for Art In Odd Places: Orlando. The piece integrates sampled found-sounds from Downtown, Orlando into an abstracted score.
